Weddings have always played a quintessential role in Indian culture. Be it a glamorous Bollywood-styled wedding or a private ceremony, weddings are becoming more elaborate and expensive by the day. Even a typical Indian wedding calls for meticulous planning. After all, it is the day where everything has to be perfect. This means several stressful and tiring weeks spent in preparation for the event, including a lot of legwork for shopping, arranging for caterers, sending invites, and so on. But with Trivandrum-based Veena Saji’s startup RETRO, things may just get fairly easy.
Veena’s venture stands out among all other wedding planners since it works like a wedding consultancy. It helps in facilitating various aspects of a wedding like zeroing on a venue, hiring a photography, arranging the caterers, among others. Her startup ensures that the customers get the best services at the cheapest price. She takes a two percent commission for each service.
Veena completed her schooling from Vidhyadhiraja Vidya Mandir in Trivandrum, Kerala, and did her graduation from Carlox College. She worked in Ants Animation for two years, and then started working in the digital marketing department. After gaining a work experience of five years, she did her MBA.
Thereafter, Veena decided to start her own business, and was immediately taken with the idea of wedding consultancy service. She was inspired by her husband who is in the institution and event business, and received complete support from her family for this decision.
