It is that time of the year when
Goddesses Gauri and Mahalakshmi visit people's homes to shower them with their choicest blessings. Some devotees in Maharashtra worship Goddesses Parvati and her Sakhi and perform the Gauri Puja while others pray to the Goddess in the form of Jyeshtha and Kanishtha. The deities are installed at homes when Anuradha Nakshatra prevails during Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha. And they perform a puja when the Jyeshtha Nakshatra prevails.
