..

Come nacque l’amore? Fu in autunno.
Maturo il mondo
non t’aspettavo ancora. Ed arrivasti
allegra, bionda, sfuggita dal tempo
indulgente. E ti guardai.

Ti guardai. La tristezza
scompariva lontana, di drappi lunghi colma,
come un pigro occidente che le onde ritira.

When we watch a film, all we see is “shadows”: inconsistent and fleeting photographic representations of life projected as light effects on a flat rectangular surface of the screen. Shadows are simply the essence of cinema.
