My journey with photography... was not an easy one! ✨
Photography has always held a special place in my heart. However, moving to Italy 15 years ago completely transformed both my life and my relationship with photography.
Step by step. And now, clients started finding me on their own.
Despite being drawn to fashion and art photography since childhood, earning a living in the region where I lived (Abruzzo) was only feasible for wedding photographers. At that time, to become known, one had to excel at documentary-style reportage and win elite international competitions like WPJA and Fearless Photographers. I achieved significant success at that time and won several awards.
However, wedding blogs and magazines soon emerged, showcasing a completely different style of photography - fine art and staged setups. This appealed to agencies and decorators. That's when I faced a creative crisis in my career. To remain a successful photographer and secure good bookings, expensive decor and accessories became mandatory, and the genuine emotions of people, which had always been primary for me, took a back seat, if not third place.
It was only with my move to Milan and the return of fashion photography to my life that I learned and understood how to blend reportage with stylish staged photography. Thanks to the journey I've taken and the experience I've gained, I can capture and seize split-second displays of emotions, making photography unique while delivering high-quality portraits.
In my field, this is a rarity, despite the abundance of colleagues around me.
I've shared my little story and a piece of myself. Feel free to share your experiences with photography or photographers in the comments! 👇
