The project started picking up unconventional (underground) soul-jazz-R&B songs to be reinterpreted in a more contemporary way which could be nu-soul or soulful house. Inspired by classic R&B, Disco and Neo-Soul they have had the knack of finding talented unsigned vocalists from all over the globe to feature on their tracks. They started in 2013 covering the jazz classic “Louisiana Sunday Afternoo
n”, finding a warm and stylish re-interpretation by the Italian singer Deborah Falanga. Right next it was the turn of Teisha Marie from Washington, showing her vocal skills on two new version of “Ain’t Nobody Like You”, the first one closer to a modern soulful dance atmosphere and the second one produced by Uk musician Soulpersona, bringing the original tune to a contemporary R&B killer groove. The third single comes out featuring the Uk vocalist London based Natasha Springer, here selected to cover the soul-boogie tune “Since I Find You” originally out in 1981 and now finding a new life also thanks to the additional production by the Uk producer Soul Talk. Natasha also wrote the lyrics and sang the first Crossroads unreleased track, “Caught In A Dream”, which find the collaboration with Italian disco remixer and producer Moplen, giving the song an uptempo groovy style as his typical music trademark. The new single is due to be out on April 21st 2023, featuring the young Italian singer Raffaella Zago covering a wonderful soulful track originally composed in the 70's by the disco-soul duo Grey & Hanks. “If You’re In Need” is the perfect link between original 70’s disco to contemporary soulful nu-disco, mixing live instruments with modern rhythms and synths. The b-side starts with a more uptempo remix by French DJ and producer Young Pulse, who is set to establish himself as one of the best remixers in the contemporary disco scene. Last but not least “Call Me Dub” pays more attention to the instrumental parts of the track taking you on a deeper journey into the whole song.
