51beats is glad to present the debut solo work by _Imnot__here (aka Davide Barucca), a musician and multi-instrumentalist from Ancona, Marche region.

“Outside” invites you to look outside, far away, focusing on the beauty of nature. It is an odyssey of sounds, rhythms, wind instruments, piano solos, all in a perennial crescendo; a journey to distant lands, perhaps imaginary, delicately outlined with pastel colours.

The synthesis of the modular, skilfully spread on the canvas in the form of arpeggios and circular sequences, creates a perfect substrate for the brushstrokes of piano and alto sax, with which _Imnot__here completes the soundscape and transports the listener between the sinuous lines of a world in perfect harmony. The _Imnot__here project fits with originality into the neokosmische trend of Emeralds, John Also Bennet, Jonathan Fitoussi and Plasman, among others.

_IMNOT__HERE is Davide Barucca, musician born in 1988, raised artistically in the Marche region, between Macerata and Ancona.
Former member of the MHO project (Macerata) and of the group Full Vacuum (Ancona) as a percussionist and multi-instrumentalist, keyboardist for a short period with the group Universound (with which he won the Il Mangiadischi competition), he arrives in the world of electronics through Jungle and Drum'n'Bass, first as a keyboard player in the group DrainBrain and then as a DJ with the duo MainVoid.
About a year ago he began exploring the world of modular synthesizers, with the intention of combining sound design with improvisation with piano and saxophone.

Tonylight, a genuine master of the 8bit music scene, takes the advantage of his long-standing experience in the sound machines’ design and production within LEP (“Laboratorio Elettronico Popolare”), to constantly change his set-up to shape new tracks, always maintaining a characteristic pure analogue and instinctive approach in all his compositions.

“Lumanoide” sounds raw, acid and old-school, with unsettling dynamics and motorik rhythms. This latest album by Tonylight can be viewed as a fully-matured version of the previously produced albums that were almost entirely based on the use of Gameboy and Nanoloop.
The creative verve is the same, but the sounds are full-bodied, deep, intense, and obtained by exploiting a recently produced Danish groove-box to its limits.

Lumanoide is inspired by the unforgettable nights in the clubs of the 90s, and all tracks are 120 bpm, in homage to the Marco Dionigi’s “slow motion” djsets.

The name of the album comes from “Lumanoise”, one of the synths produced by LEP, of which Tonylight is one of the founders.

Philipp Dick wondered whether Androids were dreaming about electric sheep… well, we don’t know, but surely humans will dream about obscure clubs and strobe lights while listening to Electrical Emotions!

Electrical Emotions connects “electricity” and “emotions”, with the latest being quite a special kind of electrical signal … and this is what makes us human indeed.

“Electrica” and “Ghost” are produced by Andy Morello, with the EP closing with “Electrica”’s re-edited, remixed and produced by Duscio, formerly appeared jointly with Andy within their former album “Electricults” (2021, 51Beats).
