World Lindy Hop Day!
Anyone who loves this dance and this music has every day a reason to celebrate it...how?Today is Frankie Manning's birthday and it is definitely a good occasion to do so. We wish long life to lindy hop by celebrating Frankie's birthday every year and also everyday by listening, reading and paying attention to all that revolves around this dance.
On our Resident DJ page, Bunny Donowitz Dj Swing every day there are cultural posts that help us understand and learn about those who helped make the music we dance to great. This day is an opportunity to thank those like you, Bunny, who spread swing culture through careful study and constant research telling us about dancers and musicians.
We know that we are lucky to have you by our side!💕

Oggi la musica perde un blues man eccezionale.

Era appena novembre scorso quando abbiamo chiacchierato a fine serata e hai detto che suonare il Blues per i ballerini è una grande soddisfazione per un musicista perché si crea una situazione unica, un dialogo bellissimo!

In 1918 was composed the song "After you have gone" (One of my favourite)!The opening at the first notes is identical to "Peg o' My Heart" (another beautiful older song, 1912) It was common at the time for some composers to copy successful themes to make their songs famous too🤭
