Muore un guerriero nasce una sirena
Vaso in argilla dipinto a mano su specchio tagliato a misura.
Questa la mia interpretazione del tema per la mostra collettiva inaugurata da il 14 dicembre e conclusa il 29.

MANDRONA
50x70 silkscreen print, black ink on white paper.

In Sardinian language, Mandrona means lazy. So I started from this word to describe our relationship with time, an ode to laziness, an invitation to take our time and rest without shame.
In our society, obsessed with performance and productivity, we often forget the pleasure and the importance of doing nothing. Especially if you are socialized as a woman, home time is associated with care work, and not taking care of your house/family is seen with internalized shame first of all by ourselves. I know that it is also a privilege that many of us can’t even think about.
Taking your time, taking your space.
This print comes as the sister of my previous silkscreen INGOMBRANTE (1 copy left, sold as a couple with mandrona only).

SEMI PERPETUAL CALENDAR FOR TIME TRAVELLERS
A tapestry to count the days in an unconventional way.

the project is born from some reflections on the concept of time and its cyclicality.
The semi-perpetual term arises from the fact that every 28 years the calendar repeats itself, and choosing the years surrounding 2025 starting from 900, we decided to represent a ribbon with a space-time door inside it that contains them all.
Some intrepid characters pass through it. Others float upwards, or descend towards the primordial broth, in movements not always predictable that lead to hybridizations of gender and species.
Of others we can recognize only the iconic remains: sunken ships, old video games, golden helmets now rusted by time.
To accompany them on this journey, swarms of pigeons: faithful allies and bitter enemies of the human being throughout geological eras.
The choice to draw a tapestry, as the previous suggestions, is inspired by Donna Haraway’s thought: weaving of as a practice of creating networks of support and solidarity, choosing threads and putting them together collectively creating new and unexpected alliances.

Nella tradizione contadina l’anno terminava a settembre, con la fine del raccolto dell’anno precedente e la ripartenza delle attività agricole. In questo momento di morte e rinascita si celebra il sabba dell’equinozio di autunno, sotto la luna piena.

Vogliamo che le nostre notti siano infuocate solo dalla nostra passione,
vogliamo che la nostra insonnia sia generata dal nostro desiderio di scoprire, crescere ed evolvere,
non dall’ansia che ci mangia al pensiero di dover affrontare relazioni sbilanciate e possessive,
situazioni di subalternità e precarietà se non di minaccia e violenza costante.
Ci vogliamo vive, vogliamo sentirci vive, agire il nostro volere, prenderci cura l’una dell’altra come un corpo collettivo.

Mercoledì 22 Novembre .artlab ospita la presentazione del crowdfunding per il calendario.
Questo il programma:
• 18:30 workshop gratuito di scrittura creativa, storyboard e fumetto per progettare insieme l’ultima tavola del calendario, ci si registra su eventbrite (link in bio as usual);
• 19:30 aperitivo spartano con parmigiana e vino, chiacchiere e dj set di ;
• Durante tutta la serata sarà possibile partecipare al crowdfunding tramite un help desk dedicato gestito dall’espertissima ing.Setzu.

Saranno presenti i primi reward per chi ha partecipato alla campagna e sparse qua e là delle strisce a fumetti da riempire con le relative istruzioni 👀

“Io di reward conoscevo solo quella di Robin Hood” 🏹
Partendo da queto presupposto, mi è sembrato doveroso fare un approfondimento illustrato su tutte le ricompense ancora disponibili nel crowdfunding.
Oltre ai calendari ci sono cose più piccole (cartoline, adesivi) e cose più grandi (workshop, fumetti personalizzati).
Daje che natale è alle porte!💫
