New Zealand's national exhibition at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale will be entitled 'Future Islands. Dr Charles Walker, from AUT's Colab, is the Creative Director. The Associate Director of the exhibition is Kathy Waghorn, from the University of Auckland, and the full team is comprised of architects Rewi Thompson, Jessica Barter, Maggie Carroll and Jon Rennie, along with model maker Minka

Ip, exhibition builder Stephen Brookbanks, and video production specialists Bruce Ferguson and Emma Wolf. Tony van Raat, head of the School of Architecture at Unitec, is New Zealand's Commissioner to Venice.
