And that’s a wrap folks!! A huge THANKYOU to all the lovely people who came down and left with huge nostalgic smiles and a warm fuzzy glow, you’ve been awesome. Mega thanks goes to the guys at Jersey Tipi for helping put SpaceBox up. Also to Not Posh and Rustic Jersey for providing refreshments over the week, Ben Newman for warming up and providing extra sound and light for our private disco last night and an extra special thanks to Steve Baudains and R2D2 for helping out in all sorts of ways. Ooh and to Island Ticket Hut for doing the ticket portal. It’s been a proper retro blast of a SpaceBox event! Cheers 😊😊👍👾

For safety reasons yesterday we felt it prudent to close due to high winds. We’re happy to announce that SpaceBox didn’t bat an eyelid after being bombarded by 50+ mph winds and today we shall be open as usual for more retro arcade fun at the Ghost of Funland. See you later 80s arcade fans 😊👍👾

REMINDER!!! For everyone attending The Ghost of Funland event, we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your session in order to be checked in beforehand and get your wristbands so that you can start your session on time. We hope you all have a great time at the event! 🥳

Most machines just need you to start the game, however …

* Some machines need you to press the eject coin button to give credits.
* Some machines have a push button near the coin slot to give credits.

No game hogging. If someone is waiting to play and your game has ended please step aside and let someone else have a turn.

Please use the shelves for your food and drinks, not the machines to prevent deadly spillages!

Try to remember…these machines are all around 40 years old, so if they’re not quite perfect or out of order it’s because that’s about 150 in human years, treat with care 😊👾

Invite someone to play two player against you on the machines, or multiplayer.

Just ask if you need a riser for shorter players to reach.

Ask for advice if you are unsure of how to play a game 😄

Today we pay tribute to David Blake former director of Funland/Anglomatics, sportsman, family man and all round top bloke who passed in 2020 aged 71. Whilst we’re setting up the arcade for the Ghost of Funland event next week we shall be thinking of him and the good old days when jukeboxes and space invaders in pubs were a thing. Hats off Dave ..

A good day making progress with this classic, Atari Super Sprint. Steering wheels were broken and the red gun on the monitor was dead as well as several other problems involving capacitors and resistors. As much as I’d love to, I won’t bore you with all the details, suffice to say she’s all back up and running … who’s up for some head to head top down racing fun ? 😊☝️
