Hi theatre fans!!
Apologies for being a bit absent and really behind but I have now caught up and so I am bringing you my review ‘s Make Believe The Magic in their fabulous Star Room.
It is a secret to no one who follows this account that I am a Disney adult as well as a theatre nerd (especially musical theatre), so it won’t be a surprise that this was one of the shows I wanted to see at the Merton Hotel.
This was a really fun cabaret style shows of some of the most iconic Disney princess/heroine songs. I was especially overjoyed by the inclusion of Rapunzel as she is my absolute favourite and some forgotten. There was beautiful singing and fantastic costumes. The iconic Elsa moment during Let It Go (if you know, you know) was pulled off to perfection and the characterization and acting was superb.
All of the performers are so incredibly gifted, especially as most of them played multiple characters but the numbers that I personally enjoyed the most were: When Will My Life Begin?/I See The Light (Rapunzel), Part of Your World (Ariel), For The First Time In Forever (Anna) and Touch The Sky (Merida).
I had such a smile on my face, they didn't have a lot like this when I was growing up, so I am really glad I got to see this and it helped to heal my inner child and with this being one of my biggest special interest I was definitely as excited as the kids.
If you are staying at the Merton when this lovely show is on your get a deal for a drink and show via JT rewards, I highly recommend checking it out.
