On 2016 November 3rd (Culture Day in Japan), the MFC "Alice in Wonderland Tea Party" at Kouraku Kiln in Arita was attended by more than 40 people from Japan and abroad. Organised by Stephanie Ann Houghton, Peter Roux and Dana Angove in collaboration with Kouraku Kiln, the event was created with
the purpose of bringing together Japanese and international others in a day-long event that offered ample and diverse opportunities for authentic intercultural communication through lived-experiences. The enthusiasm with which the event was participated in (as can be seen in the photos) shows how successful the day was in fostering new relationships. At the end of the day, there were many gatherings for the exchange of contact information that speaks of intentions to carry these new relationships forward in some way. And as participants were largely from Saga University, the organisers hope that this may help in the ongoing development of globally-minded student communities on campus.
