The birth signifies hope for the future and highlights the good job they are doing to protect our wildlife.

Lake Magado Kenya 🇰🇪

Lake Magado which is located at the bottom of Magado Crater in Igembe, Meru county is the only multi-coloured lake in Kenya.
The lake is made up of orange, red, purple and green puddles which are separated by salt moulds. Locals regularly go there to collect soda.
It has different hues (colours) due to the alkaline nature of the water and this makes the area have an acrid smell.
The source of the unique colour combinations is thought to be openings in the earth’s crusts which are known as fumaroles.
The colour changes as a result of chemical reactions resulting from the minerals contained in the lake - perhaps triggered by volcano gas activity.
According to scientists, it is however more accurate to refer to the colours as being driven by oxidation-reduction chemical dynamics.

Our trip to Rusinga island was successful.
This is how we spent the two days in homabay county.

We arrived in mbita at around 1pm..
We to lunch at a local hotel..fish,ugali and mboga kienyeji.
We then went to Tom Mboya Mausoleum, her we were briefed about Tom's history and events leading to his assassination.
Did you know that Tom's original names were Odhiambo Mbuya? But because the white man couldn't pronounce Mbuya they called him Mboya.

We then checked in at Rusinga Blue Ridge Hotel. Here we had enough time to refresh and swim before dinner time.
While taking our dinner,kuku and ugali, the live band was playing the best rhumba hits.

Day 2

On the second day we toured Takawiri and mfangano island.
We took a waterbus to and a ferry back.

We had our lunch at Siambi Resort in mfangano island before boarding the ferry at 2pm.

N/B. Omena ni 200 in Mbita and fish is 350/kilo.
