Pilau has a wonderful balance of flavors. It is a festive dish, which is never missing during special occasions or events. It’s made with rice cooked in a well-seasoned broth of Meat or chicken. Unlike the Indian pilau, the East African version does not use curry and it’s less spicy.

Rice is, without a doubt, one of my favorite food in the world. Not only is it my to-go dish when I need to prepare a quick meal, but it can easily be turned into an elegant dish for special occasions.

Planning on just having a small intimate wedding with only a few guests? It can be possible and just as memorable as having a big one.

Nowadays, weddings are known to be grand and extravagant. Most couples chose to splurge and invest a lot on their special day, not only for their satisfaction but also for their guests. “The bigger, the better” as they say.

But there are some couples that are also downsizing and seeking out small wedding ideas to enable them to still have an amazing wedding but in a small-scale. They still invest a lot of time and money on their event but they rather keep it to a minimum. There are a lot of various reasons for a couple to opt for a small intimate wedding.

If a couple has a specific budget limit.
If both parties have small families.
When they want a private wedding with only loved ones.
When couples want to avoid too much stress on planning a big event.
Let us go through some ideas to make your wedding as small and as intimate as possible.

Limiting Guests
Minimize the number of guests: The couple should meet halfway and agree on a maximum number of guests that should only be allowed. When it comes to small intimate weddings, 50-100 guests is probably the highest that you’ll go depending on how small or large your family is.

Prioritize who should be on the guest list: Parents of bride and groom, close relatives, principal and secondary sponsors, best friends (who are usually part of the entourage), and other very important people in your life.

Have an RSVP: Do a checklist on the people who have responded to come to the event and follow up on those who have not. Remove from the list those who will not be able to come, to make room for other pending guests that you’re thinking of inviting but was not invited in the first place because of the strict guest limit.
