HOW TO MAKE ONION POWDER IN YOUR KITCHEN.

Onion Powder is one powerful natural seasoning that can take the flavor of your food to another level.

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make onion powder:

Ingredients:
Bulbs of onions

Tools:
Sharp knife
Cutting board
Dehydrator or oven
Blender or food processor
Airtight container for storage

Instructions
Peel the onions and slice them thinly using a sharp knife.

Spread the sliced onions in a single layer on a dehydrator tray or baking sheet.

If using a dehydrator, set the temperature to 135°F (57°C) and dry the onions for 8-10 hours, or until they are completely dry and brittle. If using an oven, set the temperature to the lowest setting and dry the onions for 6-8 hours, or until they are completely dry and brittle.

Once the onions are dry, remove them from the dehydrator or oven and let them cool for a few minutes.

Place the dried onions in a blender or food processor and grinduntil they are finely ground into a powder.

Store the onion powder in an airtight container in a cool, dry place.

Homemade garlic buns
Homemade garlic buns are a delightful addition to any meal. The process begins with a basic bread dough, enriched with minced garlic and finely chopped parsley for an aromatic touch.
INGREDIENTS
400 g (3 1/4 cups) all-purpose flour
50g (1/4 cup) sugar
5 g (1 tsp) salt
7g dry yeast
250 ml (1 cup) lukewarm milk
1 large egg
55g (1/4 cup) butter
8 g (1 tbsp.) minced garlic
Garlic butter:
8 g (1 tbsp.) minced garlic
1 g (2 tsp) dried parsley
55g 1/3 cup salted butter, melted
METHOD
In a bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt and instant yeast.
Pour the milk and add an egg.
Knead the dough with a mixer for 5 minutes. Cover with a towel and let rest for 20 minutes.
Add the softened butter and garlic and continue to knead until you obtain an elastic dough.
Transfer the dough to a greased bowl with oil, cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Transfer the dough to a work surface, shape it into a square and divide it into 25 pieces.
Roll each piece into a ball, cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
Degas the ball of dough a little more by tucking in the edges and placing them in a greased mold. Cover and let rise another 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the garlic butter: In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, the dried parsley and the melted butter, mix well.
Brush the tops of the risen rolls with garlic butter and bake in a preheated 180C/350F oven for 15-17 minutes.
When the rolls are still warm, brush them with a little more garlic butter and enjoy!

Ginger beer recipe: natural, delicious, and healing

"Quench your thirst with the refreshing zing of Ginger Beer. This non-alcoholic beverage offers a perfect blend of spicy ginger flavor and fizzy effervescence for a satisfying drink."

Ingredients:
1 cup fresh ginger, grated
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon active dry yeast
8 cups water
Optional: additional sugar for sweetness, lemon or lime slices for garnish

Instructions:
1. In a large pot, combine the grated ginger, sugar, and lemon juice with 4 cups of water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
2. Remove the pot from the heat and let the ginger mixture cool to room temperature.
3. Once cooled, strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean container to remove the ginger pulp. Discard the pulp.
4. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in 1/4 cup of lukewarm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
5. Pour the ginger mixture into a large pitcher or jug, then add the dissolved yeast and remaining 4 cups of water. Stir well to combine.
6. Cover the pitcher or jug with a clean cloth or plastic wrap and let it sit at room temperature for 24-48 hours to ferment.
7. The longer it sits, the fizzier it will become.

🍇 5 pounds red grapes
🍏 2 pounds green apples

🍒 1 pound cherries
🍋 2 lemons (juice)
🍯 2 cups honey
🍷 1 packet wine yeast
Details of Instructions:
Prepare the Fruits: Wash and chop the red grapes, green apples, strawberries, and cherries. Remove any pits from the cherries.
Mix Ingredients: In a large fermentation bucket, combine the chopped fruits, lemon juice, and honey.
Add Yeast: Sprinkle the wine yeast over the mixture. Stir well to combine.

For the cake:

• 3 cups of flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup butter, softened
• 2 cups of sugar
• 1 cup of milk
• 1 tablespoon of white vinegar
• 4 large eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For the butter glaze:

• 1 cup of sugar
• 1/2 cup butter
• 3 tablespoons of brandy (or water)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

👵🏼Instructions👵🏼

1. Preheat the oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan.
2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

CARIBBEAN RUM CAKE

🌟 INGREDIENTS

For the cake:
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups (300g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup (120ml) whole milk
- 1/2 cup (120ml) dark rum

For the rum syrup:
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup (60ml) water
- 1/4 cup (60ml) dark rum

For garnish:
- Powdered sugar (optional)
- Additional rum for brushing (optional)

🌟 INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or cake pan.

2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

They are easy and quick to make.
Ingredients
Dry
•180 grms all purpose flour
•1 1/2 tsp baking powder
•1/2 tsp baking soda
•1 tsp cinnamon
•1/2 tsp ginger
•1/2 tsp mixed spices
•1/4 tsp nutmeg
•1/4 tsp salt
Wet
•3 ripe bananas
•150 grms sugar
•2 eggs
•1/2 cup melted margarine
•2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
• In a separate bowl mix the dry ingredients
• In another place the bananas and mash them well.
•Add in the sugar and mix
•Go in with the 2 eggs and melted margarine ,mix just to incorporate.
•Add in the vanilla followed by the mixed dry ingredients.
•Mix just to when no flour pockets are seen. Do not over mix.
•Bake in a preheated oven at 180° for the first 5 minutes,then at 160° for 15 minutes.
•Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving

KANGUMU /HALFCAKE /KEKI ZA KUPASUKA 2 1/2 Cups flour (300grams) 1/2 Cup sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspn baking soda Pinch of salt 1 tablespoon margarine 1tbspoon oil 1 cup of warm water
*Put the flour in a bowl and add sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt & mix them together.
*Add margarine & oil and mix.
*Add the water little by little & knead the dough until its boucy. Should be harder than the mandazi dough then allow the dough to rest for 20minutes.
*Roll the dough & cut into square shapes
*Deepfry under low heat while flipping occasionally until brown on both sides.

*Remove from the oil & allow them to cool down at least 20 min to get enough crunchyness.

NOTE;U must use low heat so that they cook well inside

SUCCULENT SAUCY STEAK:

🌶️🍅🥩🌿🌶️🍅🥩🌿🌶️🍅🥩🌿
1 kg steak (tenderised rump steak) remove thick fat, cut into medium pieces wash & rinse
Add 1 tabls vinegar
1 tabls soy sauce
1 tabls worchester sauce
1 heaped tsp ground ginger/garlic
1 tsp fresh ground red/green chillies
1 tsp dhana/jeera powder
1 tsp Kashmiri chillie powder
1/2 tsp lemon pepper
1/2 tsp aromat
3/4 tsp Robertson Steak & Chops spice
3/4 tsp Robertsons Barbecue spice
1 tsp Six Gun Grill spice
1/2 cup whipped fresh cream

Marinate steak in above spices for about 15 to 20 minutes.

In a flat pot on medium heat. Add 1 medium finely chopped onion in 3 tabs oil and 2 tabs butter till onions are translucent. Add marinated steak .Cook on low to medium heat .If steak is firm add 1/2 cup boiling water till soft and tender. Add 1 medium liquidized tomato and cook for approx 30 minutes until soft. Once steak is almost cooked add approx 1/2 cup julienne red, yellow bell peppers . Add 1 tabls Steers Barbecue sauce, 1 tabls Nandos Bushveld sauce and 1 tabls Steers Peri Peri sauce . Lastly add 1/2 cup whipped fresh cream. Leave to simmer.

Cook till all the ingredients, sauces infused...do not let the steak dry out, leave it moist and add a blob of butter on top. Enjoy with potato wedges, rotis or puris.

Birria Wings with Consome

What You’ll Need

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon hot chili-garlic sauce such as sriracha
2 teaspoons dark sesame oil
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
16 chicken wings wing tips removed
vegetable oil
kosher salt
fresh ground black pepper

How to make it

1. Make the glaze, in a small bowl, whisk the sauces, sesame oil and ginger together.
2. Trim excess skin from the edges of the wings.
3. Lightly brush or spray with the oil, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
4. Grill the chicken wings over Direct Medium heat until the skin begins to crisp, about 10 minutes, turning once or twice.
5. Brush the wings with the glaze and continue to grill until the meat is no longer pink at the bone, 8 to 10 minutes, turning and brushing with the glaze 2 or 3 times.
6. Serve warm.
Recipe Notes
You may also choose to bake wings at 375 for 45 minutes then slather on the sauce and
bake again at 400 for 20 minutes until the skin is brown and sauce thickens

KITCHEN TIPS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. Never store Onions and Potatoes together because both produce a gas that causes either of them to spoil quickly.

2. Put two or three orange leaves in your hot palm oil on the fire. Let the leaves turn black before removing it. By then your palm oil becomes pure groundnut oil also giving your food a nice taste.

3. To avoid feeling a peppering hotness on your hands after cutting pepper with bare hand scrub your hand with salt and red oil then wash it.

4. If you happen to over salt a pot of soup, just drop in a peeled potato. The potato will absorb the excess salt.

5. If your Soup or Stew goes sour while warming it, add little piece of Charcoal and remove after warming, the taste will come back.

6. Never put citrus fruits (oranges, lemon, lime, etc) or tomatoes in the fridge. The low temperature degrades the aroma and flavor of these fruits.

7. When storing empty airtight containers, throw in a pinch of salt to keep them from getting stinky.

8. If your salt is becoming lumpy, put a few grains of rice in with it to absorb excess moisture.

9. To reuse cooking oil without tasting whatever was cooked in the oil previously, cook a 1/4" piece of ginger in the oil. It will remove any remaining flavors and odors.

Ingridients

2 Cups self raising flour
4 eggs
250g butter
1 tbs vanilla essence
1/3 cup milk
1 cup sugar

Mix butter n sugar till light n fluffy
Add beaten eggs
Add flour
Add vanilla essence + milk
Beat till well incorporated
When cakes are cooled Sandwich then with strawberry jam . Decorate as desired

MEXICAN STREET CORN 🌽 😋 THIS IS A MUST TRY!!

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons sugar
1 pound frozen corn
1/4 cup mayonnaise
¼ cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon sriracha or to taste
Kosher salt to taste
lime salt optional, to taste
1/2 cup cotija cheese or queso fresco, crumbled
1/4 cup cilantro to taste
chili powder to taste
1 lime cut into wedges
Directions:
Bring 1 cup of water to a boil and add sugar. When water is boiling, add corn and cover with lid. Simmer corn for 3-5 minutes or until corn is cooked though and tender.
While corn in simmering, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, sriracha, Kosher salt, and lime salt in a small bowl.
When corn is done cooking, drain well and return to pan. Allow to cool for about 3 minutes. Add sriracha-mayo mixture to the corn and until well combined.
Divide corn into 4 individual cups.
Top with queso fresco, cilantro, a dash of chili powder, and a lime wedge. Serve immediately.

Beef stew
Carrot chunks
Potatoes

Salt and black pepper

2tbspn olive oil
Paprika
Beef
Brown onion soup

METHOD :

fry onion and add water, beef and all Ingridients except potatoes and carrots.
Cook for 15 min and add potatoes cook until cooked and add carrots.
Add soup mixture.

LETS MAKE BUTTER COOKIES
🌟 INGREDIENTS:
◾️200g butter (room temperature)
◾️120g sugar
◾️280g wheat flour
◾️1 teaspoon vanilla essence
🌟 PREPARATION
◾️In a bowl start by mixing the butter with the sugar.
(Remember that butter must be at room temperature in order to work well with it.)
◾️Once mixed, add in the teaspoon of vanilla essence.
◾️We continue with the sifted flour. Run the flour through a sinker before putting it into the bowl, and blend it in pretty well.
◾️Now it's time to shape them up. The easiest thing is to make a roll with the help of paper film and put it in the fridge for 1 hour or so.
◾️From there on, we'll be "cutting slices" of more or less 1 cm and baking them.
◾️Put them in a cut oven tray and bake them at 180° for about 11-12 minutes.
◾️The moment we see the edges starting to gold we take them out, even it's still soft.
◾️Consume your butter cookies with joy.
