Students at the University of Eldoret have been sent back for poor dress code.

Most students who showed up to their respective lecture halls were shown the door for not following the new policy.

A student who talked to Citizen TV said he was turned away yet he has no money to buy new clothes.

"Nimerudishwa kwa sababu ya mavazi, na kwa sasa hivi sina pesa za kununua nguo nyingine," he said

(I have been turned back due to my dressing, and for now, I don't have money to buy new ones)

However, another student supported the dress new policy saying most female students dressed poorly for their lectures.

"Unapata dem amevaa mini skirt, katumbo cut na amekuja class, io sio poa," he said

Through an internal memo dated January 19, the university announced thatstudents who will be found cross-dressing risk facing disciplinary action.

From the memo, female students wearing mini-skirts, skin-tight trousers, micro shorts and transparent dresses, attires showing bra straps or sleeveless t-shirts, ripped jeans, 'tumbo-cut' blouses and low-cut blouses and dresses will face disciplinary action.

Male students are prohibited from sagging trousers, wearing clothes that reveal their chest and ragged/ripped jeans.

"All students are therefore advised to, at all times, desist from inappropriate dressing while at the university as this may warrant disciplinary action,” the dean said.

President Ruto emphasized the need for unity and inclusivity in order to move the country forward

President William Ruto held a working breakfast with Jubilee Party MPs at State House Kenya on January 23, to discuss the agenda of the people of Kenya and the role of the party in moving the country forward.

The meeting, which was attended by MPs Sabina Chege, Kanini Kega, David Kiaraho, Irene Njoki, Zachary Kwenya, Shadrack Mwiti, Mark Mwenje, Amos Mwago, Daniel Karitho, Stanley Muthama, and Joseph Githuku, focused on the importance of building a bigger and better team that can work together to effectively prosecute the agenda of the people of Kenya.

In his remarks, President Ruto emphasized the need for unity and inclusivity in order to move the country forward .
"We cannot move our country forward by leaving others behind," he said.

"We must build a bigger and better team that will work together to effectively prosecute the agenda of the people of Kenya," the head of state added.

The MPs, who represent various constituencies across the country, shared their insights on the challenges and opportunities facing their respective regions.

They also discussed ways in which the government can work together to address these issues and improve the lives of Kenyans.

President William Ruto also signed the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (Amendment) Bill into law.

The bill which was considered and passed by the Senate sought to alter the composition of the selection panel that oversees the filling of vacant positions in the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission .
The signing means the allocation of the Parliamentary Service Commission will reduce from the current four to two out of the seven members of the Panel.

It further allows the Political Parties Liaison Committee to each nominate one member to the Panel.

This translates to a panel that will consi

Why Azimio MP Wants DP Gachagua Impeached
KenyansJan 3, 2023Read original

Bumula Member of Parliament, Jack Wanami, threatened to table a motion advocating for the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for gross misconduct.

Speaking on Monday, January 2, Wanami accused Gachagua of failing to unite the country despite the presidency being a symbol of national unity.

The lawmaker argued that since Gachagua assumed office as the second in command, he had only advanced the interests of the Mt Kenya region.

"Every time that man opens his mouth, you wonder whether he is the Deputy President of Kenya or he is the Deputy President of the Mt Kenya region," Wanami stated

"At some point, I will bring a motion in Parliament to impeach you," he added.

The lawmaker, an ally of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, also accused Gachagua of sustained attacks on former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Wanami, elected on Democratic Action Party Kenya (DAP) party ticket, maintained that Gachagua violated Article 131 of the Constitution, stipulating, "The President is a symbol of national unity."

His sentiments came days after another section of Azimio lawmakers alleged that Gachagua had sidelined other parts of the country.

The Azimio legislators, drawn from Western Kenya, argued that Gachagua had overstepped his mandate by attempting to micromanage Nairobi County affairs.
Led by Busia woman representative, Catherine Omanyo, the legislators lashed out at Gachagua, faulting him for neglecting his duties as assigned by President William Ruto.

"Why is Gachagua only talking and defending his community? He should be reminded that he's not a regional deputy president," Omanyo stated.

On the other hand, a section of Mt Kenya MPs threatened to impeach Nairobi governor , Johnson Sakaja, accusing him of disobeying the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and its leadership.
“Sakaja should know that the deputy president is not his age mate and so should be careful when he is addressing

Narok senator Ledama says Hustler Fund will create poor people Kenyans
NationDec 1, 2022Read original

Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina has said that the Hustler Fund will create more poor people in Kenya than Shylock loans.

Taking to his Twitter account, the vocal senator failed to explain why he feels the Hustler Fund will create more poor people in the country.

“Hustler Fund will create more poor people in Kenya than the Shylocks,” commented Ledama.

While launching the Hustler Fund yesterday, November 30, President William Ruto said that the fund would greatly help the hustler nation rise economically.

The sentiment of the vocal senator comes just a few weeks after he proposed that the president should change the fund’s structure to have it managed by governors.

He proposed that the president distribute Sh47 billion as part of the Hustler Fund through governors as a conditional grant.

“County Governments should administer Ruto’s Hustler Fund as a special conditional grant. Senate should oversight the fund, to make sure Wanjiku will benefit otherwise another NYS saga loading,” Ledama commented further.

However, the president and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua praised the fund, saying it will help build a nation of entrepreneurs.

The president, however, warned Kenyans to use the fund well.

On the other hand, the second in command Gachagua warned hustler fund critics to give them a break.

Without explaining why he thinks so, Ledama said.

The Sh50 billion Hustlers Fund kitty is meant to finance Kenyans at the lowest level of the economic pyramid with capital to start businesses that will earn them a livelihood.

The loan amount that can be advanced is between Sh500 and Sh50,000.

Further, getting the amount depends on the borrower’s credit score, so individuals with poor credit scores will be charged higher interest, plus possible penalties.

The late businessman enjoyed a cordial relationship with MzeeJomo Kenyatta, before becoming his banker.

Former Kiambaa MP and businessman Stanley Githunguri has passed away.

Reports reaching the news desk say Githunguri passed away at a hospital in Nairobi at the age of 77.

The family is yet to make an announcement.

Kiambaa MP John Kawanjiku celebrated the lawmaker's undivided commitment to the country's unity and progress in a condolence message.

“I interacted with Githunguri as a young man, he was a dedicated leader who was committed to the welfare of his people”, Kawanjiku eulogised.

The late businessman enjoyed a cordial relationship with Kenya’s founding father Jomo Kenyatta, before becoming his banker.

In his debut as a politician, Githunguri secured the Kiambaa MP seat in 2007 that was previously held by the late Njenga Karume.

He ran for the Kiambu senatorial seat in 2013 but was defeated by former Senator Kimani Wamatangi, who is now the current governor.

He retreated to his private life and managed his businesses.

His properties include Lilian towers, which house the Nairobi Safari Club, Ridgeways Mall, and other properties in Rubiru and Kiambu counties.

blackmailing him because he has stood his ground to protect public funds from thieves.

"I know they have regrouped and not for anything really important but to fight me because i have denied them from eating money meant for you," stated Arati.

Arati spoke in Nyanturago Thursday during the World AIDs Day.

At no point he stated, is he going to cede to the demands of those out to derail him from developing the devolved unit.

"Where should I get money for you when the coffers are yawning? There is absolutely nothing left for me to feed you," Arati said to his detractors.

The governor further accused some politicians for extorting bribes to secure nonexistent jobs in the county.

"If you see them please report them. We never give jobs on the basis of bribes," he said.

The governor's sentiments came in the wake of Wednesday and Thursday attacks on his administration by Senator Richard Onyonka and MPs, Japhet Nyakundi (Kitutu Chache North), Athony Kibagendi (Kitutu Chache South) and South Mugirango MP Sylivanus Osoro.

On Thursday, Onyonka, in a statement said he has already severed all links with the governor for being 'ungovernable.'

He accused him of fighting even his own people who overwhelmingly voted for him.

The Senator said he had found the governor unwilling to accept advice even when it was for the common good of the people.

Similar sentiments were echoed by the MPs who told him to own up to incidents of hooliganism being reported in the county.

The acrimony was sparked by the Tuesday evening assault of two county staff outside the governor's office by suspected goons.

The three suspects have since fled even as the police said they have begun a manhunt for them.

Arati said he would not cede an inch to satiate any politician's demand for tokens.

"Tell them I will not give them a penny, I'm here courtesy of the voter who I cannot let down to feed those who are hungry for public funds," he said.

"I would rather serve one term and do selfless work than

Addressing the media on Friday, December 2, KNEC CEO, David Njeng'ere, indicated that second-session papers would be placed in the exam rooms while students sit for their first tests.

He intimated that the move was aimed at addressing concerns about the preexposure of examination papers by some schools.

The KNEC boss further explained that the papers would be safeguarded with the students, invigilators and police officers.
