To create a platform for the youth to showcase their talent and to get world class dancers to compete on world class stage from underserved communities
Dance For The Crown is a project aimed at bringing youths together and sensitizing on issues that affect them in our society today.
This is a youth dance event that is held 3 times a year on school holidays. We seek to engage the youth in underserved communities to avoid idle times by giving them a platform to build their talents and showcase their passion.
A number of teams sign up for the event to compete for cash prizes and a trophy, each event has a theme that touches on social vices affecting the youth and the community at large. We always host a panel of judges who help in conducting the competition so that we can award the winners fairly.
The main aim of the competition is to:-
· Showcase youth talent
· Mentor the youth and help them on how they can use dancing as an income generating activity
· Use the event as a platform to sensitize on the effects of drug abuse for it is one of the main things affecting our youth
· Use this platform as a way to eradicate crime in our society and help them realize their various talents as we engage their time positively
· We also educate and influence our audience on social responsibility and behavioral change in making informed choice in their sexual activities
