Everything about baseball is spread out within the school systems right from Elementary to University and in the public domain. You can follow the game everywhere and see big plays; you can follow baseball on television, on radio, where a skilled announcer can help you create the game in your head. The heavy investment made by American and Japanese governments along with other countries and stakeholders is significant. Here in Kenya baseball is a very new sport, it was first introduced in Kenya by USA Marines in early 1970 in Bahati estate. Baseball was officially founded in mid-1995 and thereafter BASEBALL FEDERATION OF KENYA was registered with the Registrar of Societies in the year 2002, as a Non- governmental Organization responsible for the development of Baseball activities in Kenya. The Federation is affiliated to International Baseball Federation (IBAF), World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC), Africa Baseball and Softball Association (ABSA), Kenya National Sports Council (KNSC). The Baseball Federation of Kenya is still under going through the teething problems, in all areas of development. The lack of Baseball equipment is a major issue because the Federation does not have a continuous supply of these much required tools. Training of Coaches, Umpires and Scorers has been a big concern since the Africa Baseball and Softball Association (ABSA) does not have a continental body that takes care of Training aspects. The Federation relies on some individuals who visit Kenya once in a while, to carry out some coaching/umpiring training programs. MISSION STATEMENT
The Baseball Federation of Kenya shall develop the game of baseball to all 47 Counties of Kenya in order to achieve a countrywide and National status. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
