my name is Kelvin Karaya Itumbi a.k.a Deejay Kidkev, born on 12th October .I started gaining interest in deejaying when I was 14yrs old, this was after a long time of great interest in music production and artistry. I had done around 12 single tracks and recorded them with different known production houses in both Embu and Nairobi with the likes of Grand pa records and Dreamland records featuring

.I started off professional deejaying at the age of 25, going through big events and making my way through Kenya’s Top campaign teams(Team Uhuru), which made me reach where I am. My favorite genre while playing is Local, Reggae, Dancehall, roots, bongo, Old’Skul hip-hop and Some little bit of R’n’B (90’s) that relaxes my mind after a hard day at work. When playing live, I tend to keep this same eclectic flavor - play the tunes that are hot right now, but at the same time pay homage to classics and more obscure releases, basically anything that keeps the party going with a hefty dose of fun with regard to my audience. Having come from a different background to most other DJ’s, I feel that has given me a slightly quirky mixing style which strays away from the simple "mix seamlessly between two tracks". I like to involve a lot of samples, scratches and acapellas into my sets, and twist tracks so that even if a crowd has not heard it before, there will still be a recognizable element to it that they will be able to relate to. My ambition is that perhaps one day I could be a force to recognize with when it comes to music business having a sense of almost all elements of music that is production, being an artist and above all feeding it to the people as a deejay. I have done several events ranging from cooperate events to just home parties, burials and weddings just to mention but a few. Noting down everything however for the purposes of my clients who would like privacy especially in the case of burials, home parties and weddings has been excluded.
