ABOUT ME

I am Kelvin Mbalani also known as Deejay Kyembo by my stage name.The founder and CEO of The Optimum Party and Optimum Radio. I am based in Kenya.I grew up in the late 1990’s & early 2000’s which really influenced my style of music and vibe, because I grew up around Hip Hop, Genge ,Bongo & RnB at that young age, but later on I got introduced to other genres eg AfroBeats ,Dancehall and Re

ggae.So back then while still in high school around 2012 that’s where my interest of deejaying really kicked in.One of my best friends called Donnar introduced me to jam session at a club he was deejaying back then and that’s where my love for the art really grew.He taught me a few basics on how to dj and he also used to give me opening and closing sets which really helped me in building my confidence with large crowds and people as a whole. Other Dj’s who really influenced me were Dj Simple Simon of supremacy sounds I loved the way he did his mixtapes upto date I really admire his style because he’s very versatile.Dj FullyFocus as well I love the way he emcees and how he engages with the crowd he’s a big role model to me. In 2016 after high school I came to the big city Nairobi just with hopes of taking this art of deejaying to the next level.So in 2017 December I joined this events company named Discmen Entertainment owned by Dj Kamjo .One of the best people who really changed my perspective about deejaying.He taught me the business side of it,how to wear for shows, how to talk to clients and also how to put on a proper show.Working under him was great because he was open with me going at his place just to practice and record mixtapes using his equipments. Since then I have been able to perform at some of the biggest Kenyan events Weddings , Roadshows , Clubs and Corporate Events.I have also played in some of the best local radio stations eg Hot 96 , Milele fm.

2020 came with it’s own challenges no shows events nothing the world had stopped due to the Corona Virus.So I had to look for other means to stay relevant and at the same time entertain people while keeping a distance.And that’s where Optimum Radio came into existence.Optimum Radio is an online 24 hour radio station that plays different genres of music each day & on rotation.I get to host artistes/musicians on my popular shows named Optimum Fridays and Stay n Chill Sundays.You can tune in at any time THROUGH THIS LINK zeno.fm/optimum-radio

I recently established a theme name for all my events and a clothes line named The Optimum Party and just so you know what the name is all about. [ THE OPTIMUM PARTY IS A GLOBAL MUSIC & CULTURE EVENT THAT CATERS FOR ALL IN TERMS OF GOOD MUSIC AND BRINGING TOGETHER DIFFERENT CUSTOMS WHICH MAKES IT DIVERSE AND UNIQUE ]. My love for different SOUNDS of music both Local & Foreign
made me think of . WHAT IF I create an event that people can turn up to
and vibe to different SOUNDS from all over the world. This EVENT gives people that LIFETIME EXPERIENCE
