How do you tell the tale of Eric and Njeri's union without mentioning the vibrancy of the day? Brain, playback Anita Baker's Sweet Love. Both families were on a mission to outdo each other, in giving, dancing, in hospitality. I had to manage my emotions over how beautiful their union was. Eric, a half jamaican-kenyan met Njeri, a soft-spoken yet firm in her demeanour. Watching them, I couldn't stop but stare at how their mums were in awe. How both families blessed them. The cheeky jokes and the almost hidden blushing moments. What a weekend. Congratulations to Eric and Njeri.

Choosing to say "I'm sorry, let's work through this." It's choosing each other every time, even when your feelings aren't in tune. And I love it.

Kericho has some of the best sunsets not to mention the tea plantations and the drink itself, chefs kiss. I love driving up to this tranquil land in the West side of Kenya. I had an opportunity to document Francis and Karen's Koita ceremony. As an observer, I noticed cheeky glances shared, the hidden jokes shared in whispers, the blushing from each side. I love documenting love. And listening to 'how-we-met' stories. To Francis and Karen, though this was a long time ago, the memory of your traditional ceremony lingers in my membrane rent-free.

Easy like a Sunday Morning. I found myself driving to Nyahururu. The drive felt like a release and therapeutic. The greenery, the cold wind on my face, the calm almost quiet serene location. It had me in a state of awe. To have witnessed this intimate union between Kefa and Murugi brought with it so much hope. Now, living in Texas, The couple live a very quiet, yet fulfilling life. This was their union in Kenya. I have managed to stay in contact with them through the years and what I please it is. Congratulations to Kefa and Murugi. Your union brought a smile to my face.

My favourite couple to have worked with was, Chella and Ibra. They trusted the whole process. We hiked to our site, they walked the sun-dried grass in the middle of nowhere but were so sold out to the vision of the day. I don't ever take it for granted to have clients who trust the process and offer complete creative direction to me. They turn 3 years into their marriage this year and have a beautiful daughter from their union. May you continue to commit to one another and bring forth more beauty into this world. Congratulations Chella and Ibra, many years later, the memory of your nuptials lingers in my mind each day.

A few years ago, my friend Patrick phoned me with such excitement in his voice. I was taken aback a bit because Patrick is deeply introverted and very calm. You can imagine my shock with him on call. Rehema, today, I'm going to ask Her to marry me!' I, already too invested, was jumping in my living room. Atterboy Patrick! ''What do you have planned?'' Sweet Gael, thought it was a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum. Little did she know, her husband now, but her boyfriend then had plans for her. She was in shock, the kind that brought her to tears, and Patrick could now ease up. He tried so hard to calm down during the session, but once he heard YES! it was a done deal. Congratulations you two. Many years later, the memory of your nuptials still lingers in my memory.

Vanessa and Magnus. One of my first couples to work with. I remember the first time I spoke with Vanessa and Magnus, I could feel their warmth. They are a friendly pair, kind and very intelligent. I found myself remaining quiet in the back seat taking in all the information that was being shared with me about how they got together, their growth, and the vision for their future together. The meet-up felt very aligned till today, many years later, and the feeling has never changed. Now, parents to 2 boys, thriving in their ministry (soul, mind and scars) new adventures and challenges unlocked. I find myself playing back that conversation in the car. Congratulations Vanessa and Magnus, years later, and the warmth that was experienced from day one has not changed, but has evolved. I'm glad to have been played witness to this day.

Let's reserve the script from people posting to this mastery. I have often been to ceremonies where the set-up, decor and organisation has left me blown away. One thing became apparent when listening to the vows exchange and the preaching afterwards. The union of marriage is a lifelong commitment. Then I listened to their story of how they met and nurtured the relationship to where we are, i.e. the Nuptials. I was mentally transported to the first days. The beauty of this nuptial was the union within the family. Even close friends felt like chosen brothers & sisters. Congratulations and Happy Nuptials GK and Vanessa.
