🔴 THE JO-K'OWINY
The second wave of the Luo speakers to migrate into Nyanza. They are believed to be the offshoot of the Padhola community of eastern Uganda, hence, they are not descendants of elder Ramogi like the Jo-Kajok and the Jo-Komolo groups of the Luo speakers. The Jo-Kowiny group of Luo speakers, led by Owiny Sigoma, came in the 16th century and settled around the country called Alego.
