I love the rain
There is a refreshing feeling,
That comes with the drops pounding
Hard on the roof causing a racket
Softly on the skin then trickling down
Roughly on the street forming rivulets
I love walking in the rain
How the coldness of the wind and water caresses
Leaving me refreshed and with a little shiver
As I trudge on knowing I am drenched
Deep into my clothes not a single dry surface
I love how lonely it feels
Walking down wet streets cold and deserted
Watching humans shade themselves and wait
Thinking to myself they know not what they miss
As I walk and sing along to myself songs of rain
Like when Celine asked for the rain to wash away her tears
Hope to myself that it may drown my fears
Thinking about heartbreak and like Train all it does is rain
Then resilience hits and I remember the storms I have braved
Like Simple Plan all I can do is sing in the rain
And when it gets hot
All I want to do is dance in between the drops
I love the rain
It brings back the green
The freshness of the earth
All I wish is we could take more care of this beautiful rock
