About our name – Mise en Place (pronounced “meez on plahss”) is a French culinary term that refers to the organization and preparation of all ingredients and equipment to be used in cooking or serving food. It was a phrase that MEP founder and managing director Sean Collins heard countless times while studying at Johnson and Wales College of Food Innovation and Technology in the USA.

We are incredibly proud of our talented chefs, Orlando McDonald, Sashana Gordon, and Roland Benjamin, who participated in the 30th Annual Culinary Society Competition this week. Together, they earned two silver medals and three bronze medals. Your innovation, creativity, and dedication truly shone through, and we couldn't be prouder! We were thrilled to support the Young Chef Young Waiter 2024 competition at on Tuesday evening! Congratulations to the talented winners: Brittney Bodden, Estefania McDermot, and Kody Wright.

Mise en Place also treated the group to a memorable evening with a boat ride and a private chef dinner on Wednesday. We wish them all the best as they represent the Cayman Islands at the upcoming World Finals in Singapore!
