About our name – Mise en Place (pronounced “meez on plahss”) is a French culinary term that refers to the organization and preparation of all ingredients and equipment to be used in cooking or serving food. It was a phrase that MEP founder and managing director Sean Collins heard countless times while studying at Johnson and Wales College of Food Innovation and Technology in the USA.
