August the 4th changed our lives forever. We stand in solidarity with all those who lost loved ones, their homes, hopes and dreams, with those left with life changing disabilities or dealing with unimaginable trauma , loss and grief. Four years has passed but we will never forget. Today, we are still here in our venue, standing strong and rebuilding a place of joy and togetherness through music, culture and community.We will not rest until there is accountability and justice for the victims, until we are free from the continued cycles of injustice, oppression and corruption. We will continue to fight for the truth and for justice to be served for the victims, for all of us whose lives were turned upside down and for our city, Beirut.

Samidoun 2023 is re-founded by individual activists & volunteers . They come from political backgrounds centered on equality, accountability, gender sensitivity, and the importance of building a secular state. This initiative is to provide tangible support for displaced people from South Lebanon; to them, this is an act of resistance, as assisting displaced families in the pursuit of accessing decent living conditions is a crucial and urgent necessity today.
"Samidoun" is a civil coalition for relief established in 2006 to address the devastating impact of the war & attack on Lebanon. It is a coalition that relies on grassroots and participatory work, practicing transparency in all its procedures, and operates entirely voluntarily.
