من أهمّ المحطّات بسنة 2024، مشاركتنا، ممثّلين بمديرة مرسح نادين علي ديب، في برنامج Momentum Delegate Programme بدعوة من المجلس الثقافي البريطاني خلال مهرجانات إدنبرة 2024، ضمن وفد منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا. تمحورت المشاركة حول مشروع In Between Momentum، الذي يناقش تنظيم المهرجانات في العالم العربي وأهميّتها. هذه التجربة أكّدت من جديد أهمّية الشراكات بالنسبة لمرسح كمساحة تجمع بين الفنّ، المعرفة، والتعاون الإبداعي. نسعى عبر هذه الشراكات لتطوير مهرجانات تعكس ثقافتنا وتستجيب لاحتياجات مجتمعنا، بالاستفادة من الخبرات العالمية.



One of the key milestones of 2024 was our participation, represented by the director of Marsah Nadine AliDib, in the Momentum Delegate Programme, invited by the British Council during the Edinburgh Festivals 2024 as part of the Middle East and North Africa delegation. The participation revolved around the In Between Momentum project, which explores the organization of festivals in the Arab world and their significance. This experience reaffirmed the importance of partnerships for Marsah as a space that bridges art, knowledge, and creative collaboration. Through these partnerships, we aim to develop festivals that reflect our culture and respond to the needs of our community, while benefiting from global expertise.

يعرض "خارج الإطار" لمحات عن الفنّانين والممارسين الثقافيين المستقلّين والناشئين من مختلف أحياء لبنان. تسلّط كلّ حلقة الضوء على النسيج الثقافي النابض بالحياة والذي غالباً ما يتمّ تجاهله، من الموسيقى والتصوير الفوتوغرافي، إلى الرسم والنحت وفنّ الأداء، والمزيد... تستكشف السلسلة التحديات والنجاحات التي يواجهونها على طول الطريق، من خلال الغوص في دوافعهم وعمليّاتهم الإبداعية.

We are delighted to invite you to experience "Unframed," which consists of a series of short episodes, an exhibition, and an Art performance.
Unframed profiles independent and emerging artists and cultural practitioners from across Lebanon’s diverse neighborhoods. From music and photography to painting, sculpture, performance art, and more, each episode illuminates the country’s vibrant and often overlooked cultural tapestry. Delving into their motivations and creative processes, the series explores the challenges and successes they encounter along the way.

في الربع الأول من هذا العام، يقدّم مرسح أفلامًا من سوريا ومصر وإيران ولبنان. أعمال تنتقد الأنظمة القائمة وتفتح آفاقًا لتخيّل عقود مستقبلية كانت تعتبر مستحيلة، بدت محدّدة مسبقًا أو مؤجّلة إلى الأبد. توفّر هذه الأفلام نافذة على عالم تسود فيه الميلونكوليا شعورًا جماعيًّا، حيث تلقي العدمية بظلالها على ما هو غير متوقّع. تتحدّى هذه الأفلام تصوّراتنا عن جغرافيات وزمنيات متخيّلة جديدة، عوالم بعيدة عن القبضة الخانقة للدكتاتورية. هذه الأفلام ليست إجابات، بل دعوات: نقاط دخول للحوار، والتساؤل، والتصوّر.

For the first quarter of this year, Marsah presents films from Syria, Egypt, Iran, and Lebanon—works that critique the regimes in place and open up space for imagining futures once deemed impossible, futures that seemed predetermined or forever deferred. These films offer a window into a world where melancholia lingers as a collective sentiment, where nihilism shadows the unforeseen. They challenge us to think about new imagined geographies and temporalities—worlds away from the suffocating grip of dictatorship. These films are not answers but invitations: entry points for conversation, questioning, and envisioning.

ضمن برنامج الإقامة الفنية في مرسح، تلقّى الفنّانون المشاركون جلسات تدريبية وورش عمل تفاعلية عن مواضيع شائقة ومختلفة:
مدخل إلى الأفلام
الفنّ والفلسفة
الجسد كأداة إبداعية في الفنون الحية
التواصل التعاوني والإنتاج.

صمّمت خصّيصًا لتلبية حاجات الفنّانين، وهدفها دعم النموّ الفنّي، تعزيز المهارات المهنية، وتحفيز الإبداع لديهم.

نتشكّر المدرّبين: جنيد سري الدين، لميا أبي عازار، محمّد حمدان، مايا زبيب من مسرح زقاق؛ والياس خلاط، غسان خواجة، فاطمة شحادة من مهرجان طرابلس للأفلام.



As part of the artist residency program at Mersah, participating artists attended training sessions and interactive workshops on diverse and engaging topics:

Introduction to Film
Art and Philosophy
The Body as a Creative Tool in live Arts
Collaborative Communication and Production.

These sessions were specifically designed to meet the artists' needs, aiming to support their artistic growth, enhance professional skills, and inspire creativity.

We thank the trainers: Junaid Sarieddine, Lamia Abi Azar, Mohammad Hamdan, Maya Zbib from Zoukak Theatre; Elias Khoury, Ghassan Khawaja, and Fatima Shahada from the Tripoli Film Festival.

كجزء من شراكتنا مع السفارة النرويجية في لبنان، سررنا بزيارة وفد من السفارة في مرسح.

تضمّن اللقاء التعرّف على فريق العمل والمتطوّعين، بالإضافة إلى مناقشة برامجنا وفلسفة العمل المعتمدة في تنفيذنا لهذه البرامج، والتي تعكس أهمية الثقافة والفنون في مناصرة القضايا الاجتماعية.

كما تناول اللقاء برنامجنا للاستجابة "العلاج بالفنّ واللعب" على وجه الخصوص، القائم على العلاج بأنشطة فنيّة متنوّعة مع الفئات العمرية المختلفة.

نشكر سفارة النرويج على زيارتها الطيّبة، وعلى دعمها للمؤسّسات المعنيّة بالمشهد الثقافي في ظلّ التحديات الحالية.

As part of our partnership with the Norwegian Embassy in Lebanon, we were pleased to host a delegation from the embassy at Marsah.

The meeting included an introduction to our team and volunteers, as well as a discussion of our programs and the philosophy behind our work, which emphasizes the importance of culture and the arts in advocating for social causes.

The meeting also focused on our response program, "Art and Play Therapy," which involves engaging in various artistic activities with different age groups.

We thank the Norwegian Embassy for their kind visit, and for their support of institutions involved in the cultural scene amidst current challenges.

بيسعُد مرسح الإعلان عن اعتماده منهجية مؤسّسة "sounds of change" بجلسات العلاج بالموسيقى.

الأسبوع الماضي، شاركنا بتدريب أكاديمية أصوات التغيير (من 13 إلى 17 نوفمبر)، وركّز على بناء منهج للتطبيق يعتمد على منهجيتهم واستكشاف طرق لمعالجة الصدمات من خلال الجلسات الجماعية.

متحمّسين نطبّق هالخبرة بشغلنا إيمانًا منّا بإنّه للفن دور في العمل مع المجموعات✨️


Marsah is thrilled to announce its collaboration with the organization "Sounds of Change" to implement and adopt its methodology in our music therapy sessions.

Last week we attended the "Sounds of Change" Academy (Nov 13–17), focusing on building a curriculum based on their methodology and exploring ways to address trauma through group sessions.

We look forward to implementing this experience in our work, based on our belief in the role of arts in supporting groups✨️

تدعوكم خليّة التدخّل لمعالجة الأزمات في الجامعة اللبنانية - Lebanese University Task Force بالتعاون مع مرسح، لحضور عرض فيلم "٣٣ يوم" للمخرجة مي المصري، حيث سيتمّ جمع التبرّعات للعائلات الوافدة من الجنوب اللبناني.

تم تصوير الفيلم خلال الحرب التي شنّها الاحتلال الإسرائيلي على لبنان في عام 2006.
يوثّق "٣٣ يوم" حياة أربعة شباب يعملون في المسرح والإعلام والإغاثة الطارئة، ويسرد الفيلم قصصًا غير مرويّة تركت بصمة دائمة في حياة الناجين من ذلك الصيف المصيريّ في بيروت.

Lebanese University Task Force, in collaboration with Marsah, invites you to the screening of the film "33 Days" by director Mai Masri. Donations will be collected to support families from southern Lebanon.

33 Days
🎬 Directed by Mai Al-Masri ⏳ 70 min.

The film was shot during the war launched by Israeli forces on Lebanon in 2006.
33 Days documents the lives of four young people working in theater, media, and emergency relief. The film tells untold stories that left a lasting mark on the lives of those who survived that decisive summer in Beirut.
