RÜDIGER BOHN

Professor of Conducting at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf

We are very excited and honoured to be back on stage with Maestro Bohn and look forward to working with this great professional.

Rüdiger Bohn studied piano and conducting at the conservatories of Cologne and Düsseldorf. As a pianist, he won several international chamber music competitions and performed regularly as a concert soloist before devoting himself exclusively to conducting.

After master classes with Leonard Bernstein, Sergiu Celibidache and John Eliot Gardiner and various theatre positions as répétiteur and conductor at the Théatre de la Monnaie (Brussels), the Basel Theatre and the Lübeck Theatre, Rüdiger Bohn regularly accepts invitations from major symphony orchestras in Germany and abroad.

His repertoire ranges from the early classical period to the classical modern period, with Bruckner and Mahler always forming a focal point.

Very interesting International Conducting Master Class with world-renowned German conductor Sebastian Lang-Lessing (Music Director: Korean National Opera , Music Director Emeritus: San Antonio Symphony ) and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra to be held from January 8-14, 2024 in Vilnius, the beautiful capital of Lithuania.

MASTER SEBASTIAN LANG-LESSING
Maestro Lang-Lessing began his career at the Hamburg State Opera after receiving the prestigious Ferenc Fricsay Award when he was only twenty-four years old.
With countless other notable achievements in his repertoire, including: Principal Conductor of the Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy and Artistic Director of the Opéra de Nancy , which, under his direction, was promoted to Opéra National de Lorraine. Lang-Lessing has been Music Director of the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra since 2010.
He concludes his tenure at the end of the 2019-20 season, after which he will become Music Director Emeritus.
His teaching experience is evident on the world stage, where he is at the forefront of classical music educational programming with younger audiences.
