As we prepare to celebrate the festive season, our thoughts turn to helping those less fortunate than ourselves. We urge you to consider supporting the Moroccan Children's Trust by making a donation.

We have huge admiration for the selfless work of this charity, whose expertise and achievements in child protection are exceptional. In collaboration with FAPE (Foundation Amane pour la Protection d’Enfance) the main focus of their current work is the Centre Amane in Taroudant, Earthquake relief across the vast area of Taroudant province and a foster care programme

🌟 Celebrating the Visit of an Amazing Volunteer for La Maison Anglaise Garden Ecolodge! 🌟

We are so grateful to have had the help of 3 teams of amazing volunteers in 2019 when we were completing the building of our new ecolodge.

This week we were thrilled to have had a visit from Sandi Peters whose dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work have truly made a difference in so many ways: from planning and creating our beautiful garden, working on decorative touches and sharing their creative ideas to improve our eco-friendly practices. Sandi has been an invaluable part of our community. Her positive energy, laughter and spirituality have left a lasting impact on everyone.

Jane always thinks of Sandi as the “key lady” because she labelled and organised the many keys; symbolically she really was a key person.

The Moroccan olive harvest is a vibrant and culturally rich event that mainly takes place from November to December.

During this time, farmers carefully hand-pick olives from ancient groves, preserving the integrity of the fruit. This labour-intensive process from tree to market ensures a high-quality olive oil, celebrated for its rich flavours and health benefits, making it a prized ingredient in kitchens around the world.

The olive oils produced in the Taroudant region have exceptional quality. Why? The remarkably sunny and dry climate concentrates the active ingredients. This also applies to Moroccan rose petals, lavender, and other herbs.

Our Story

For 22 years we ran our successful guest house from a “normal” house. In 2020 we were so proud to open our stunning innovative ecolodge set in an acre of permaculture gardens with a 19 metre long pool in a superb position by the town walls and yet close to the souks. The design marries traditional wisdom and beautiful architecture with modern eco-design.

Excellent English-speaking Moroccan staff who provide excellent food (special dietary needs catered for) and offer a wide variety of insights into culture and the environment.

High quality transport, drivers and guides who make your holiday really special - we craft group holidays with special themes such as singing, dancing, yoga, wildlife, art, crafts.........

We support several charitable causes including projects we set up ourselves (women’s embroidery; soap-making ; beekeeping ; an experimental bee-friendly orchard; a water trough for working animals; tortoise conservation) and projects run by others (orphanage; School for the Blind; street children; conservation of an endangered bee; an environmental association; the local Rotary Club; various individuals and schools in need)
