6 years ago, we threw a surprise party for our parents’ 31st Wedding Anniversary - an intimate wedding and renewal of vows ceremony. Probably the biggest surprise we ever pulled and the reason why EFF was conceptualized.

Back when cross-country flights were easy to do, planning this surprise wedding was done in a 2-year time table. It was the hottest month of that year so we knew we had to make this happen in a relatively cooler place, but also only a drive away from Manila which is in Tagaytay and Batangas, and luckily, we got The Caluerga Church as the wedding venue for this event.💒

To start, a little white lie had to be said for them to be able to fly to Manila. We told them we’ve a planned a weekend road trip and a staycation. 🚘

Friday. Our Mom, together with kids number 2, 4 and 6, took a flight to Manila, while our Dad at the airport, ready to pick them up and go straight to our hotel in Tagaytay. Kids number 1, 3 and 5 were also on their way to the hotel with their cars loaded with wedding stuff. The plan was to get our parents already asleep so they wouldn’t see what other stuff would come.

Saturday (Wedding Day). Our dad already had an itinerary in his mind like places to check out, food to try and whatnot. But we all purposely overslept so we’d wake up lunch time already. We ordered takeouts which made our parents say “Nagpunta pa tayo ng Tagaytay para mag Jollibee at matulog”.
After lunch, our parents went inside their room to nap and that was our cue to set up the other room with their wedding needs - gowns and suits were put on the mannequins, flowers were assembled, shoes were lined up and so on.

When the photographers and videographers arrived, we woke both of our parents up, put a blindfold on them and directed them to the living room. Finally, they were given their wedding invitations. We asked them to read it out loud and… SURPRISE!!! - an invitation to their own wedding.

We decided to make the bridesmaids’ dresses pink and with the designs closely similar to a celebrity wedding in that same year, with 5 matching pairs of heels. (Any guesses? Clue: Politician X Showbiz 😆)

For the men, we had them in different stylings and colors - black, grey, neck tie, bow tie and no tie. We chose for our dad a very clean cut and classic white suit.

The bride’s Wedding gown was a simple beaded and laced muscle cut top A-line gown, complete with right size angle-cut veil. This was the first time our mom was going to wear a wedding gown so everything needed to be perfect for her.

Our wedding checklist also included flowers, invitations, wedding rings, photographers and videographers, officiating priest and a dinner reception.

We ended the night singing some of parents’ favorite songs and a look back to the 31 years of what was like for them, from dating during their Uni days to that very memorable night. Check out on instagram for more photos, and in the comment section, the photo slideshow SDE.

Wholesome and idyllic, ‘The little Prince’ concept is perfect for a celebration like Baptism. 👑

Our team did an ocular visit at 3 different brunch places, before finally deciding on this naturally well-lit and hushed restaurant-cafe, remotely located on the top of a hill because we always deem okay won’t cut it.

With a minimum instruction to none, some of our partnered suppliers for this event are newbies in their fields, however, didn’t disappoint us with their final outputs. 🙌🏻The animated e-invitation was a notch-up to the traditional ones, though the equally well-conceptualized printed versions, were also given. Baptism candles for the Godparents are personalized and adorned with blue details of the event. The artistically assembled Little Prince stage and set-up which include the blue, white, yellow and transparent with a rose balloons as table centerpieces and the smallest details such as the red classic airplanes, were all nods to the essential items of the book🌹. Party favors were scented candles, tote bags and confectionery goodies, with the theme and color scheme still in-check through their packaging.

For styling the celebrant and the parents, we knew we just had to go with all things blue, through the help of our supplier, who is also a newbie in the kids wear business.💙💙💙

The cake designer and photographers are our go-to suppliers ever since the get-go, yet still, never ran out of wow ideas with something special and masterfully done output every single time.

Outside of our sourcing, family and friends of the celebrant joined our Little Prince curation through their unique gifts such as the 3D shadow box art, the dried plant and floral arrangement and the balloon backdrop at the entrance.👍🏻👍🏻

The flow of the programme was designed to be short and simple however meaningful and fun, just as the book is.

For our launching project, our team came up with the idea of a pastel themed party with a subtle posh touches, modern but still fun and girly, fitting for a coming-of-age birthday celebration.

From the intricately embellished designer's ball-gown, to the party decoration and set up, we requested all of our suppliers to follow a particular mood board made for this event to assure every detail is curated. The Invitation, Cake and tubs of pop corn as Party Souvenirs, were presented with the party's signature pastel colors and modern shapes. We even styled the rest of the family, working with pastel-colored gowns which complimented everything at the party.

The chosen Photographers and Videographers, the Hair and Make-up Stylist, the band, the Host are all top-notched in their respective fields, making the party more fun and memorable. Check out the official hashtag, for more photos. (Our personal favorite is when the celebrant hopped in a Mercedes convertible.🤩😍)
