Koperattiva Rurali Manikata (KRM) Ltd, was set up in the Summer of 2007 by a group of farmers and residents of Manikata. Their general aim was to put forward projects that would help to safeguard to natural, historical, social and economic environment of the place. Today the cooperative is working on four different projects:
1. The running of the Manikata Rural Heritage Trail.
2. The restoration o

f the Razzett tal-Qasam.
3. The restoration of the Armoury of Għajn Tuffieħa Royal Marines Training Centre
4. The promotion of local produce and of typical food.

Today, we finalized our week talking about friendship and taking care of each other. We made heart shaped sandwiches with jam and sprinkles.
We then visited the animals and fed them the extra crust of the bread from our activity.

Later on, we created special 'pocket hug' rocks! The kids dipped their fingers in paint to make a heart on the pebble, then added a smiley face. These little rocks are a reminder that they’re sending hugs, even when they're not around. Such a fun and meaningful craft!

We ended up the day with some water play and ice to cool down and chill out

We finished off week 7 by feeding the animals, watering and harvesting from our field. We made a small salad to taste our fresh yummy veggies.
We also learnt some more amazing facts about animals and then made a beautiful picture featuring a seahorse.

After feeding the animals, it was time to learn some more amazing facts about animals. We also made cute owls with the kids using sack cloth and buttons. The owls all wanted to fly to the nearby carob tree 😊
We also saved a chameleon which had just fallen into the pool.

Today we talked about the different emotions we feel and calming down strategies. We made a stress ball, coloured mandalas and enjoyed a yoga session. Fed the animals and found some time to play.

Today during their screen drama lessons the children learnt about how important it is to be credible and convincing when acting out a scene. They had interesting workshops and it's amazing how they come up with their own ideas.
Then it was time to cool down and have fun in the pool.

Today we talked about feelings and how we are special. Fed the hens and peacock. Watered the plants and enjoyed playing together.

After feeding the animals and watering the garden, the kids picked up a lot of leaves to clean out the other picnic area.
Then we learnt about octopuses who have 3 hearts, about owls and their large eyes, about seahorses...
Then we made tomato sauce for pizza and everyone made their own tortilla pizza.

Today we continued the topic of animals by making our very own raccoons 🦝 We also had a yoga lesson and fed the animals!

Time flies and week 6 is over as well. Today we learnt about the Olympic torch. We also discussed the message of unity and friendly competition, which was the reason why the olympic games were revived by Pierre de Coubertin in 1896. We challenged the children to think about how they could bring about friendship and unity in their daily life.

Then we collected carobs for our farm animals and Nina and Gill came to check them out 🤣.

We also saved a little gecko from the pool and had fun with simple old fashioned games.

Today we spoke about the Olympic symbols - flag, anthem...
Then the kids made their own colourful flag.
We then had some olympic sports and undoubtedly long jump was their favourite.

Today we continued the theme of animals by reading some stories, we made our very own jumping frogs 🐸 and we also played some water games.

Today we spoke about how the Olympic Games were revived again after 1200 years.
We also prepared apple rings with yoghurt to represent the continents on the olympic flag and had our own mini olympics.

Another great screen drama lesson today with Ms. Louise Doneo. Today's workshops offered the kids different scenarios from everyday life which they had to act out.

Then we had water play and loads of fun.

We are learning about the olympic games this week with the 7 to 10 year olds. So after learning how they all began in Olympia Greece, we had some activities about what we learned.
We also painted the clay mermaids and dragon eyes we made last week. Look at how talented our students are 🎨.

We finished off week 5 by listening to the story of St. George and the Dragon, and of Siegfried the Mighty Warrior. Then we made a lovely sea scape using pebbles and shells and collected carob pods.

Today we made dragon breath ice cream and mermaid tail ice cream. We had fun with simple games using recycled boxes.

Today we spoke about dragons and then made a necklace using seashells.
Then we challenged the kids to come up with their own obstacle course.

This week we will talk about mermaids and dragons. Today we explored different folklore from around the world about mermaids.
Then the kids made lovely mermaids and dragon eyes with airdry clay.

Sharing some moments from today. The kids found a tennis ball and they decided to baptise it... Invitations were handed out and the baptism was performed 🤣🤣 We also celebrated Alex's birthday 🧁🧁
