Hello friends! So this happened.. 5 weeks ago today I became a super proud Mama for the 3rd time (yup, I'm loving this mummy business more than anything ..) I'm hoping to get back to work in a reduced capacity over the coming weeks .. fingers crossed! Thanks to all those who've messaged x

4 months of classes just flew us by 😦 it's been an absolute pleasure working with you and I'm so glad we will be offering our Fine Art Life Drawing Classes for a second term later on in the year! I think it's safe to say our students have thoroughly enjoyed them! 💕

Hey friends! We're drawing to the close of our Artemisia Fine Arts Tutored Life Drawing Classes this season (4 months) -our very first here and a total step in the dark! - however we are so proud to announce that most of the individuals who joined for a session continued coming back for more classes, and always left with massive smiles, a feeling of achievement and new friendships... for us, as a space for the community, this is worth more than anything in the world!

We've been told that the ambiance, privacy, ample natural light, settings/staging, the professional models and the service received has been unparalleled in comparison to other offerings elsewhere 😍👌✨🏆

Our cohort also requested that these classes continue in October, after a small summer break, which will happen if all goes well with our baby's arrival in September. 🙏

To be clear, these classes could have never happened without the brilliant Darren Tanti who like any good tutor recognized the exact needs of each of his students and guided them accordingly, for his relentless research and pack dissemination to support his students in their personal journeys at home and his brilliant eye for detail which he has cultivated over decades of practice.

Also, a massive thank you goes our to our sponsors, Marks and Spencer Retail International Group for believing in the importance of such activities and gatherings in the community. The cultural community would never be able to organise most of its events without such support from industry.

Last and not least, thank you dearest Antoine Farrugia for lending us your easels to work with!! 🙏 We are super appreciative!!

We're now into our second week of mentoring Luis and Mika, who are here thanks to the program and collaboration between NSTS Malta and Max-Born-Berufskolleg in Germany. These lovely young gents have been helping with digitising our fantastic collection, stock adjustments, photography, filming- you name it!

On another note, Bella has just graduated from pre-school and jumped straight into work with Mummy, helping with customer support, vetting movies, dj-ing, button pushing, software scrambling and staff entertainment when on break.

(On a personal note, I have no idea how my brain hasn't exploded yet and my body is still standing!)

Hi friends! I promised you several upcoming events and here they are! Aside from the last few Tutored Life Drawing Classes with Darren Tanti for this season, it is a true pleasure to host the one and only Dr. Jeanine Rizzo at our beautiful space in the upcoming months!

Being in the industry and coming across so many sad situations concerning creatives in general, I felt that it was only a natural and logical progression to use Artemisia as a platform through which essential knowledge could be shared to empower the vast majority of you. Please, make use of these resources.

All events will be followed by a Q&A session, refreshments and a networking session.

Remembering the Queen & Prince Philip's wedding cake on their 70th wedding anniversary

The Wedding Cake

Design: The cake was an impressive four-tiered creation, standing nine feet tall and weighing about 500 pounds. It was elaborately decorated with intricate designs, including the coat of arms of both families, and scenes from their lives and heritage.

Ingredients: Known as the "10,000-mile cake," it featured ingredients sourced from across the British Empire, showcasing the unity and reach of the empire. This was especially significant in the post-war era, as it symbolized hope and renewal.

Baker: The cake was made by McVitie and Price, a well-known British biscuit company, which had the honor of creating the royal wedding cake. The bakers took great pride in crafting a cake that was not only grand in appearance but also rich in taste.

Ceremony: During the wedding reception, the couple used Prince Philip’s ceremonial sword to cut the first slice of the cake, a tradition that added to the grandeur and significance of the event.
