Chris Brown is originally from South Africa and been in Malta for quite a few years. He has a huge love for music that makes one feel positive and alive.
Before he settled in Malta, he used to live in London for six years. In that time he befriended a renowned dj that introduced him to the world of playing music. He practiced for a number of years exploring different avenues of music.
Shortly after he moved to Malta he made contact with some of the dj’s who made it possible to do his first live gig at a big party in 2006 held at Buskett Road House. It infused in him the joy of loving every time he got up to play.
Chris has four main genres of music he’s focused on - Deep House - Tech House - Electroswing - Commercial radio friendly type tracks and more recently he’s been mostly focused on Spanish Matinee/Circuit style music. He would usually spend hours and hours’ looking for remixes of tracks that are not usually played just to add freshness to the music he plays.
He has a guilty pleasure of finding remixes of some old classis and playing them in his sets alongside the more current tracks... he feels it brings back good memories & pleasures.
He’s played on a regular basis in clubs in the popular area of Paceville such as Klozet, XO Lounge, Long Island, Chandelier, Hugo's Shadow Lounge, 5th Avenue, Teasers, Playground, Places, SoCity, Don Juan and is playing regularly at Michelangelo’s Club Lounge. He’s also played at a few of the big parties in Tatingers, Busket Road House and Gianpula.
There is another side to his dj’ing as well. He has his own sound and lights equipment and has made a name for himself performing as a mobile dj. He has catered for parties from events at MCC in Valletta, Monte Kristo estate even at the Limestone Heritage where he played for a group of 1,400 people. Chris also especially enjoys catering for a smaller group of people for weddings and private parties.
Most recently he’s been playing alongside a ingenious group of musicians called Versatile Brass where he is part of a project called DJ Fusion, which is basically him dj’ing current music with the brass band playing together with him. There are more interesting things in the pipeline being created with him and Versatile Brass.
When it comes to Chris Brown, he’s always up for a good challenge when it comes to music.
