BARCELONA PART 2

This man walked me through the nicest street of Barcelona, from the Sagrada Familia to the Rambla, the Arc de Triomf; the Gothic Quarter; La Barceloneta; el Mercat de la Boqueria; parks and museums. All whilst tasting amazing tapas- oh God if I love that! 🍻

Everyday at the end of the day our feet were aching, but it was always so worth it!!!

I’m actually so grateful that we booked an hotel with Spa so we could enjoy a relaxing sauna, and a barefoot walk on stones to recharge our batteries in the evening before dinner 🙏🏽❤️

This place in the pictures was called La Violeta: pay it a visit 😉
We ordered:
- olives (you might say “olives?”, and yes, Spain has the best olives in the world!)
- patata bravas
- hummus with grilled octopus and chorizo (I know, I know, but let’s try not to judge🙏🏽)
- dos solos (two espresso ☕️)

The atmosphere was lovely, not too busy, and the food was delightful 🤤

As much as we like to explore new places, we also like a good staple coffee 😜
We tried croissants, Napolitana and vegan cinnamon roll (this last one a bit too sweet for my tastebuds, because I don’t like sugar glaze).
Cappuccino with almond milk was so on point!

it feels like long time has passed, since our last Christmas together! So this year we thought about something special…

You know that our recipe book is in the making. But in the meantime a now idea popped up!

Sacred Food has always been about rekindle and transmit passion and appreciation for real food as an act of self love, and respect towards our Planet.
So what’s better than spreading this love with a very thoughtful gift?

Choose to send an old fashion postcards to a friend, to say “Hey! I love you, and I want to gift this to you, wishing to cook it with you!”
They will receive one, two, or even ten of our Recipe Postcards in a lovely envelop, and if you want we can add a special message from you! You only need to choose the recipes, and give us the address.
We’ll take care of all the rest 😊

- Beetroot Gazpacho
- Sacred Cookies
- Sicilian Caponata
- Pumpkin Soup
- Vegan Merengue

Getting ready for a Retreat involves a lot of work and organisations that happens behind the scenes.

No one sees you when you’re creating the menu that balances creativity and nutritional value 🎨

No one sees you when you’re creating new recipes 💥

No one sees you when you’re writing down a veeeery long shopping list 📝

But that’s the chef’s life 😅

Last dinner was served, then I had a massage, now laying in bed with a smile on my face, as this retreat reminded me why I love working with this team in this setting. And it reminded me about all the magic that resides in everyone, and how beautifully our paths are interwoven…

Yes, sometimes tiredness makes it hard to see all of this. But when I get the right rest, I can see the gracefulness again.

This are my reflections, after a week of giving giving giving, that feels like passed very quickly!

Today another retreat with the .institute starts, the second-last of this year ✨❤️✨🍄 ✨

I chose to open the week with a Balinese Gado Gado.
And I opted for a refreshing dessert (the one in the picture ⬆️): coconut lemon tart, which was really delicious!

Why am I telling you this? Because people loved that dessert, but I’ve never made it before! Sure I’ve envisioned it when I created the menu for the retreat, but I actually made it up today as I was in the kitchen.

I just think that when we’ve been doing something for a long time, it’s very important to KEEP space for improvisation. So things stay interesting; we keep experimenting; improving; creating. And let ourselves have fun!

We saw each other, and we helped each other to see ourselves too.
We looked at each others as human beings, with our ideas and dreams, on a mission to truly support other people out there.
And we liked what we found. So we decided to stick together, knowing that when we come together we’re actually CO-CREATING a space for true rebirth.

DAY 2 Netherlands How to make a salad interesting with simple ingredients: - roast black and white sesame seeds - roast sunflower seeds Add more seeds if you like, set aside and let cool down In a bowl mix: - tahini - olive oil - lemon juice - salt IMPORTANT: if the tahini splits due to lemon juice, add a bit of water (room temperature), and keep mixing until it becomes homogeneous again.
