Day 8 of the HPC 20/20 Vision Program at Côte d'Or with the Boxing Team. The young 🥊 boxers engaged in understanding the importance of range of motion, body stability, flexibility and proper body alignment. These will help them improve their 💪 movement efficiency, reduce the risk of injury, and increase overall athletic ability.

Last Saturday, Côte d'Or hosted the National DBM Relay Championships 2024 finals, organised by the Mauritius Athletics Association. Young and senior 💪 competitors from various sports clubs across Mauritius took part in the 🏃‍♂ relay competition, which featured categories from U10 to U20. Medals were awarded by the Junior Minister of Youth Empowerment, Recreation and Sports, Mrs Karen Foo Kune-Bacha, recognising the outstanding performances of the winners.

Day 7 of the HPC 20/20 Vision program at Côte d'Or with the Judo team. The young 🥋 judoka carried out tests such as 💪 pull-ups, weight checks, and grip strength tests at the HPC gym.

with Waleed Gurreebun, HVAC Technician at Côte d'Or. Waleed is responsible for maintaining and repairing the HVAC systems across the entire sports complex, ensuring optimal temperature control and air quality for both athletes, visitors, members and staff. His duties also include regular inspections, troubleshooting, and providing efficient solutions to minimise downtime in the facility's heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. A brilliant ⚽ football player in his spare time, Waleed enjoys watching crime series on Netflix and he is also passionate about playing 🎱 pool with his friends. Waleed is a food lover and his favourite food are mostly homemade.

💪 Day 5 of the HPC 20/20 Vision program at Côte d'Or with the karate team. The young 🥋 karateka gained insight into strength training in the outdoor gym and attended a lecture on mobility. They conducted tests, including grip strength tests and BlazePods, at the HPC gym.

✨ A glimpse of the GAPS training at the state-of-the-art facility in Côte d'Or. Côte d'Or is proud to have hosted the training camp. Numerous parathletes from Commonwealth countries felt privileged to train in one of the top five sports hubs in Africa.

💪 Day 2 of the HPC 20/20 Vision program at Côte d'Or! The young swimmers participated in the training sessions where they got insights on the necessary skills and opportunities on how to excel as elite athletes.

Côte d'Or is currently hosting HPC 20/20 vision program at the High Performance Centre Mauritius. The initiative aims to prepare 💪 young athletes and to detect talents for the CJSOI 2025 which will be held in Seychelles. Today was the first day of training for the young badminton players and the focus was on introducing them to the elite world of sport. The athletes were guided through proper lifting techniques in the outdoor HIIT gym, while also gaining valuable insights into high-performance training. They received lecture on important topics such as mobility, nutrition, sports science, and sports psychology which provided them with a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to excel at the ⚡ top level. The athletes tried and tested recovery methods such as ice baths and recovery boots to optimise performance.

Last week, Côte d'Or hosted the Summer National Championship 2024, organised by the Mauritius Swimming Federation over four days. 🏊‍♂️ Swimmers, of various categories from different swimming clubs across the island, came together to showcase 💪 their skills and competitive spirit. The ✨ grandstand was filled with spectators, creating a vibrant atmosphere as swimming enthusiasts cheered on the athletes. 🏅 Medals were awarded to the top performers in each category, celebrating the spirit of the sport.
