As we approach Día de Mu***os, on the 2nd of October, our mind immediately goes back to this delightful collection by
Día de Mu***os (Day of the Dead) is a special time for us to honor our loved ones who have passed away. Legend has it that, during these days, their spirits return to spend time with us, thus beggining the tradition to make an altar filled with photos, favorite foods, drinks, and cherished items—everything they enjoyed in life. Cempasúchil (Marigold) flowers, with their vibrant color and unique fragrance, are used to guide their spirits back to us. The Xoloitzcuintli, a traditional dog, is also believed to help souls cross into Mictlán, the underworld, acting as their guide on this journey toward eternal rest.
This collection is, therefore, a lovely and honest portrayal of this key celebration in our culture; full of symbolism, beautifully shot and coated with the essence of Luna’s privacy.
