Then and Now

This set of steel grills once served as the entrance to the old Sarkies Corner.

After our refurbishment, they were repainted and given a new lease of life as part of the Heritage Wing lift landing decor.

Her breathtaking five-tiered creation, "Blooming Love," captured the essence of a dreamy floral garden with its intricate sugar flowers and delicate design. A true masterpiece that celebrates love and artistry.

Congratulations to Chef Moganakumar Kerisnasamy for winning Silver in the Plated Appetizers category at Battle of The Chefs 2024!

Four appetizers consisting of steamed red snapper, furikake crusted chicken mousse, duck breast and apricot chutney terrine, and langoustine mosaic, was beautifully and intricately plated to form an elegant masterpiece.

The dome, positioned where the former central drive-through open courtyard had been, and therefore linking the two old and new wings (the old being the 40-room Victory Annexe of 1922), was almost 16m in diameter, with a ground area below of more than 186sq m. It would be illuminated by some 81 concealed lights. The glazing was effected with “non-actinic glass”.
