Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Monica (Aug 27), whose perseverance in prayer eventually gained for her son, St. Augustine, the grace of a deep conversion. May we never lose hope, but instead trust in the power of God’s mercy, and persevere in prayer for our loved ones. Just as there is no saint without a past, so there is no sinner without a future.
