As Malaysians, from young it is rooted in our culture to be polite and thankful to those have helped us, to be grateful to those who have supported us, however we have often neglect one very important person - US.

The most important that we need to be thankful and grateful for is ourselves. Are we thankful for being who we are? Are we grateful to ourselves for sticking
by and support ourselves all these years? Saying thank you to you yourself is another form of self acceptance aka self love. When was the last time you actually were thankful & grateful to yourself for being you?

So on this Labour Day, instead of spending on material things to pamper yourself, truly reward your soul with that long awaited thank you by looking into the eyes of the person in the mirror and say thank you for being you.

Some calls it the best supper, while others prefer it over lunch or for dinner. There is just not a fixed set of time to enjoy this dish.

The Fried Kuey Teow, a dish known for it’s slightly burnt wok smell and flavourful taste.

Simple looking but yet requires the mastery of combining several elements to make it just right. From the soft, tangy texture of the noodles, to the creaminess of the eggs that wraps around it; tossed in a whole load of fresh crunchy bean sprout for that extra munching sensation. It is a dish that promises to excite you with every mouthful.

MESSAGE FOR THE WEEK:

Forgiving the people who have hurt us DOES NOT mean what they do is right. Forgiving does not mean we forget neither does it mean we want those who hurt us back into our lives again.

RATHER forgiveness is an act of kindness towards ourselves. A decision to free ourselves from the pain of the past. It is also a decision sets us free from being angry at ourselves for not being able to stop others from hurting us, unknowingly allowing them to hurt us, or for even not able to protect ourselves from such harm and abuse.

For some people forgiveness seems to be like eating a piece chocolate pie, a one time decision. While for many of us, forgiveness seems to be like a momentous act of scaling the great peaks, a series of tedious repetitive decisions to forgive. No matter how it is, forgiveness towards others or towards ourselves is a process of healing. Don't rush it. Even if you can't do it today it's ok, take your time, because at the end of this journey, the growth you experience is worth it all.
