✨ A little throwback to one of our most meaningful projects: the restoration of a cherished Qun Kwa, a traditional garment belonging to a client’s mother. When we first saw it, we were hesitant — the fabric was deteriorating, and the embroidery was badly damaged 🥺 But moved by the family's heartfelt wish to honor their mother’s legacy, we decided to take on the project! 💪🏻
😅 One of the toughest parts? We couldn’t even lay the Kwa flat on our work surface. Our incredible embroiderer had to work in a freeform style, which made the process even more demanding. On top of that, we were tasked with faithfully recreating the original craftsmanship — no small feat! 🎨
After over 2 years of hard work, the project was finally completed, thanks to the incredible patience and dedication of Master Wong 🙏 If you stopped by our shop during that time, you’d probably find him quietly working in a corner, day in and day out. Special thanks to my amazing business partner, @bycelineooi, who meticulously handled the final tailoring ✂️ Every stitch was done by hand to bring this precious garment back to life.
I hope this restoration inspires others to cherish and preserve their family heirlooms 👗💖 Let’s keep our cultural heritage alive, one stitch at a time, for future generations to enjoy!
