Sem/nggu | Mother’s Day

This reminds me so much of the good old days when I used to follow my Tok (grandma) to the pasar basah (wet market) for Raya preparation. We would ride the yellow bus from our kampung to pekan Bayan Lepas. She would let me carry her grocery basket while I follow her making rounds. From one stall to another, we would get daun palas, beef, santan and peanuts, among others. She would giggle when she saw me struggling to carry the basket with all the items tucked inside. How I miss you fondly, Tok.

This is no my grandma’s basket, but the memories of her remain intact for as long as I could remember, and I cherish them in the form of flower arrangement as a tribute for Sem/nggu debut.
I hope you’d be able to share the same love with your mom, grandma, or just anyone who gives you the warmth of motherly love. ♥️

Previously, I was fixated on the idea that one needs to accomplish many things within a certain period as I equate the accomplishments with success. And there were a lot of things that I want to do; excelling in a corporate job, growing this business, expanding my knowledge, volunteer more, network, and the list goes on.

At one point, this to-do list I created gets so overwhelming that it made me worried unnecessarily, borderline giving me anxiety. When the feeling hits, I will find myself questioning, have I done enough, that I am reaching a particular timeline that I set up. And it’s not a good feeling, I tell you. If you have been there, you would know. It feels as if you are carrying an invisible but heavy load on your shoulders, but you cannot share with just anyone.

So I decided to stop and take things one step at a time. Seminggu (translated as one week) is the manifestation of how I execute my ideas and plans now- I get to decide what I want to do and focus on just that, one week at a time. It’s the idea that I have that option to choose is that makes it meaningful and empowering. /

And it’s also my way to encourage you to do the same. Through flowers.

One-minute recipe for a healthy and delicious kale salad with smoked salmon. A massive shoutout to our dedicated local grower, @pluckedveg for the freshest harvest one could ever ask. FYI, today’s batch of kale in our salad kit was harvested on Friday. As we needed the greens to arrive a day earlier for us to repackage, we requested the team to deliver the kale bunch on Saturday. Otherwise, @pluckedveg would be delivering straight to you from the farm, right after harvesting. Couldn’t get any fresher than that. 👍🏻👍🏻 The salad kit is available from The Brunch, our Father’s Day Special. We have safely delivered all boxes, together with our charcuterie sets earlier today to some homes. We hope you’ll enjoy the selections. The Brunch: Father’s Day Special Idea on how to assemble the DIY charcuterie. Using the ingredients we put together for this brunch box, you can now assemble your very own cheese platter to serve the hero of your life, your father. This video serves as a guide, but you can always get creative! To purchase The Brunch, head over to our bio and click on the link provided. #SoireeAtHome P/S: We follow standard hygiene protocol for the preparation of our cheese platters by applying the usage of hand gloves, masks and caps. For aesthetic purpose of this marketing video, the usage of the items was not captured in the video.

The Brunch: Father's Day Special We are paying homage to all dedicated father figures out there who have done great in putting meals on our tables. This Sunday, which is the Father’s Day, put up a good spread on that table with our curated brunch box filled with edible goods (well, most of them) for you to have a #SoireeAtHome with the hero of your life. Items that are mostly sourced from local suppliers include DIY cheese platter, cold cuts (chicken slice, beef pastrami and smoked salmon), baguette/croissants, kale salad kit, our choice of sambal, artisanal sparkling drink, soy scented candle and preserved flower arrangement. The Brunch is suitable for 3-4 pax.

#SoireeAtHome tasting platter now has vegetarian option too! Talk to us if you have special requests, we will do our best to accommodate them. [Challenge] I am working on a potential research proposal and this is a social experiment to test Instagram as an effective medium connecting users to convey a message to an audience (wide/specific) very quickly.
