Random pics while in the garden. After much effort, my son & I managed to catch only one tilapia fish weighing about 350gm. That was for dinner 🎣 😁

It was the first time I watched a football match at the stadium. The fear of massive traffic jams and possibly being trampled by thousands of people in a crowded stadium were the reason I never made it to the stadium. The process of getting to Stadium Bukit Jalil to watch Malaysia vs Vietnam was an eye opener to the things I have missed out all these years.

My first experience riding the Sri Petaling line to Bukit Jalil from Putra Heights LRT station was awesome. Easy parking at Park N Ride Putra Heights LRT station, train was punctual and the aircond was working perfectly!! On the way back, I decided to use the Women’s Coach. Oh wow, what a privilege. We must give credit where it’s due. I felt very safe and comfortable on board the LRT. Thank you

The flow of passengers coming in and out of the Bukit Jalil LRT station was smooth. Going through the gates at the stadium was pretty quick too. No one pushed as I had imagined. It was orderly. Queue, show ticket, get it scanned and that’s it! There were over 60,000 people at the stadium and the vibes of everyone coming together to cheer Harimau Malaya was electrifying!

All I can say ..efficiency, respecting rules and coming together as football fans made my first outing to Stadium Bukit Jalil an amazing one.

Sampai hari ini terngiang2 “Ayuh Ayuh Malaysia ku, hari ini kita mesti menang” 🇲🇾🤩

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon at Central Park. We were seated on a bench enjoying the weather and greenery while eating lamb gyro on pita and lamb on rice. The feeling was surreal. This was not the “more popular” part of Central Park but a hidden gem in the city. We actually discovered it by chance after buying lunch at Halal Bitez on West 110th Street. From the Great Hill, we walked to the The Pool, the Glen Span Arch, Huddlestone Arch and The North Woods. It felt strange walking through The North Woods. It looked “unkempt” for a park but it gave an experience of being in a “real” woods although we were actually in the heart of the City. It was as if we were in a bubble which separated us from the piercing sounds of sirens and traffic. The silence was deafening, we were not used to it as everyday we are so caught up with things we needed to do that we hardly have time to get used to being in nature. As we continued walking into the woods, it felt serene. Before we walked out of the “bubble”, we sat on a bench and watch time go by. We learned that sometimes, doing nothing in particular can be the best form of rejuvenation💚

Mothers’ Day next month…any plans for moms in your family, community or organisation? Here are some ideas you may consider: Let moms rest and relax through batik painting. Or how about getting a “lunch box” cake, (a mini cake) and letting moms explore their creativity decorating it. Or perhaps a flower arrangement workshop (I personally would love attending this and bringing home fresh flowers). You may also consider outdoor activities such as cycling, hiking, horse riding, swimming, glamping depending on moms’ interest. Make sure to include good food all day on Mothers’ Day!! If you need help planning, DM us💞

The past two weeks has been a mix of colours, flavours, gratitude, tlc, hardwork and fun attempts creating new experiences. From exchanging food with our neighbour to enjoying old time favourite kuih made with love by my 80year old mom, great moments to cherish indeed. Happy Ramadhan💚

It is always a pleasure to be with Team Party Friends. When we add up our individual personal experiences in kids edutainment it will total to almost 60years of colourful and valuable years of fun. My children grew up with Party Friends as their second “school”. They learn through interactive activities like our Little Chefs Programme, Nature Ranger Camps, Adventure around Town, Fire Safety and many more. Children build up their confidence to speak and perform in public through the interaction with other children and adults. It is not just a business..it is about building a safe and fun environment during parties, it is also about providing a good foundation for social interaction. All our parties are customised for a fun and educational experience. Happy birthday to our birthday girls. Tq for having us🩷

In December last year, I had the opportunity to visit The Strand Bookstore in New York City.

I felt a bit dizzy when I got inside the store, perhaps because I was tired from walking around the Christmas Market or perhaps I was overwhelmed to see books, books and more 📚 . They have “Blind Date with a Book”, where books are wrapped and you wouldn’t know the title of the book and it lets you discover your “date”😊

I headed to the kids section and spent quite sometime looking for a suitable book for my storytelling session. I am of the opinion that the books collection was a bit different from those at Waterstones, London.

Personally, I prefer Waterstones as they have a wider range of kids books and great offers during Christmas.

Kids storytelling is not merely taking a book to read to children. I share personal adventures with the children and let them be part of the story through imagination.

The House on East 88th is about a family who had just moved into the house and was shocked to find a crocodile in the bathtub!! Lyle the crocodile would soon be part of the family as he is helpful around the house, a great entertainer and is very friendly.

I am planning a storytelling road tour to reach out to children whom may not have the opportunity to visit bookstores or read books in a library.

PM us if you know children who may be interested to receive a visit from us 📚 📖

Best Regards,
Auntie Ellene

Throwback to 8 Dec, a unique experience riding in Brooklyn. I booked the ride through the Manhattan Riding Club. There is a lot of difference in stable and arena environment compared to what I am used to at Malaysia Equine Council, mainly due to weather and space. I am used to lots of outdoor open space that we have here. Of course riding in the cold weather meant having layers of clothes which restricted my movement. Being in my 50s, I guess I am no longer as agile and had so much trouble mounting Max (the horse) from a lower mounting block. It was quite embarrassing but thankfully my guide was very patient and helpful. To sign up for the ride, you would need to confirm your level of riding experience. This is important as you would be riding in a public open space and in the city environment. Just like a pedestrian, you have to follow all the traffic rules. Once we got to Prospect Park from the stable, it was really exciting. It was a busy park with cyclists, joggers, parents with strollers..scenery was beautiful as we rode past the lakes and into “woody” parts. An experience of a life time!! But I would probably stick to riding off areas with high traffic 😅. Glad to start this year riding in Cotswold beautiful countryside and ending the year in Brooklyn bustling park🤎
