Sisyphus and His Rock🪨

A theatre production by PKK Tuanku Bainun featuring the Teen Theatre Project.

Sisyphus and His Rock features the Season 4 ensemble members of The Teen Theatre Project, a programme by PKK Tuanku Bainun with the support of theatrethreesixty. This is also the first production for the The Teen Theatre Project Season 4.

Presented mainly in English. Sisyphus and His Rock tells the tale of a group of teenagers stuck studying for their last SPM paper. They find themselves confronting their greatest fears around success, failure and growing up. Sisyphus and His Rock attempts to find meaning in the human condition constantly faced with adversity. This production is written and directed by Arsyad Azrai our Head of Creative Programmes

Tickets are based on a minimum donation of RM25. 100% of your donation will go towards supporting PKK Tuanku Bainun’s Arts Programme. If you are requesting a tax exempt receipt, you may collect it on the day of the show if it is ready.

The PKK Tuanku Bainun Duologue Competition finally made its debut last weekend! 🎭

After a full day of insightful workshops led by industry experts, the participants were prepared and ready to take on the stage performing in front of our distinguished panel of judges.

To all the participants, a job very well done! Your dedication and efforts were seen on stage. We hope this was an experience that inspired and took your performing arts journey to the next level.

We are thrilled to unveil the finalists for the inaugural PKK Tuanku Bainun Duologue Competition 2025!

A huge thank you to everyone who submitted their audition clips!

To those who weren’t selected this time, we truly appreciate your effort and we hope to see you next year!

Each finalist has earned their moment in the spotlight and will be participating in exclusive workshops on 14th June, led by industry professionals with broad experience in performing arts.

These workshops will provide the finalists with valuable insights and guidance to prepare them for Competition Day on 15th June.

Attention to all the talented young actors aged 13-17! This is your chance to showcase your skills and compete for exciting prizes. As part of the competition, we will provide a one-day workshop for finalists designed to sharpen their abilities and enhance their performance. WHAT IS A ‘DUOLOGUE’?
A duologue is a theatrical scene featuring two characters who engage in an extended conversation or exchange of monologues. It can be dramatic or comedic, and it often involves intense dialogue, emotional depth, and strong character interactions.

WHAT IS A DUOLOGUE COMPETITION?
Our duologue competition is a golden opportunity where shortlisted participants will be performing in front of our panel of judges to stand a chance to win cash up to RM1,000!

COMPETITION BREAKDOWN

1. Audition (OPEN NOW - 25 MAY) - Submit an audition video by re-enacting a scene from one of the scripts provided in the Google Form.

2. Shortlist Announcement (26 MAY) - Shortlisted participants will be contacted.

3. Workshop (14 JUNE) - A full-day mandatory workshop awaits all shortlisted finalists at our centre! Led by industry experts, this session will sharpen their skills and get them ready for the competition

4. Compete (15 JUNE) - Participants will perform ONE duologue on Competition Day.

SK Convent Muar has developed a program that focuses on improving student’s lives through music. The school has worked with local music instructors and industry representatives to provide both equipment and training. Playing music has helped students improve their critical thinking skills and has sharpened their ability to work in teams.
