We had the rare opportunity to meet up with the pre-eminent BMW M Division group over in West M’sia — the awesome dudes from M4ntap and their equally amazing rides.
Our ears are still ringing from the spirited drive through the Ulu Yam touge route, as the symphony of M engines reverberated throughout the mountain last Sunday morning.
We got to experience first-hand the roar of the E60 M5’s legendary naturally aspirated V10 engine, as well as the scream of its younger sibling, the E92 M3’s V8 — the only M3 to have a V8 with eight individual throttle bodies under the hood. Of course, not forgetting the relatively new S55 engine, an inline 6 twin turbo fitted to the group’s track record setting M4 in Sepang, which packs plenty of power on the hillclimb as we struggled to keep up in our camera car.
