"What's so special?" some may ask

After all, it could be argued these things can be easily be found elsewhere in the state without having to travel as far inland as Semadoh Valley, where modern conveniences like mobile telephone and Internet communications are practically non-existent and most local still rely on generators and micro-hydro dams for electricity. But take a closer look, and you might be very suprised at what you may discover hiding in plain sigh.
Semadoh Valley has no shortages of places to see and things to do. In fact you can always be sure to find at least one activity in each of it’s 7 villages. Wide range of jungle trekking, mountain climbing, river fishing to rice planting or harvesting and just enjoying the peaceful villages life through Homestays available.

Indeed, Semadoh Valley not spoils in choice of natural attractions. It's beautiful mountain panoramas, lush green rice fields valleys which produce the fragrant adan rice variety, and scenic riverside villages.
The upland forests on yellow-red soils which are dominated by dipterocarps in the emergent canopy are termed Mixed Dipterocarp Forests ( MDF) has dominated Maligan Highlands forest below 1,000 m a.s.l. Some of these forests were the first to be logged and their land converted to agriculture but most remain unlogged with the Communal use title. The Wat Gerawet Ridges form steep slope consistent from Puneng Trusan to Long Tanid geographically dipterocarps forest but decline to higher altitudes. Further up the mountain slopes, montane forest environments take over with their cooler ambience and presenting spectacular views that are well worth the trek.

Admist the green grass fields, grazing buffaloes and wooden houses with the traditional roofs in shapes of a wooden mortar use to separate rice grains from their husks, one can find brick houses with french- style windows, plastered ceilings and solid hardwood doors. First time visitors to Long Semadoh may find themselves doing double takes when they see the European-style houses dotted throughout the village especially in Long Tanid. In fact, a few of those houses would not look out of place on the slopes of the Swiss Alps. The homes and church are a testament to local creativity and ingenuity, made all the more extraordinary when one considers the relative solution of the village.
