The show ‘𝙀𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙨: 𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙤𝙨𝙨 & 𝙀𝙢𝙗𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚’ was originally set to close last weekend, but thanks to an extension from , we have had one more incredible week. Now, this really is the 𝑭𝑰𝑵𝑨𝑳 𝑾𝑬𝑬𝑲𝑬𝑵𝑫 to catch it!

I’ll be at Temu House from 10:30 am until closing on both days, and on 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 (𝟯/𝟭𝟭), I’ll also be running the 𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙒𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙥 workshop from 𝟭𝟬:𝟯𝟬 𝗮𝗺 - 𝟭𝟮.𝟬𝟬 𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗻 There are still a couple of spots left, sign up through the link in my bio if you’d like to join!

Caption and photos by Rekha Menon • Acceptance was the turning point in my healing. For six years after my brother’s death, I was numb...just existing, not truly living. It wasn’t until I quit my corporate job and embarked on a transformative journey to Ausangate, a sacred mountain in Peru, that I began to release the weight of grief and heal myself.

These artworks reflect both the emotional unraveling I endured and the tranquility I found in the mountains, an experience that remains etched in my heart forever. Aho!

Animal Flow is a dynamic and creative activity that builds mobility, strength and motor control. It was created to benefit people of all ages since it helps coordination and reduces risks from falls.

Both strength training warm up and Animal Flow exercises can be done anywhere, be it at home or when you travel, without needing gym equipment.

When you visit her show at temu house, she encourages you to pause and connect with her sculptures. The heart carries the weight of healing, and she wanted to highlight that profound experience. Each piece represents a different aspect of this journey, inviting you to reflect and engage with its meaning.

As she explored new mediums, this series of heart sculptures emerged as a vital expression of her journey through grief. Each sculpture embodies Hope, Love, and Faith…essential stepping stones in healing. Reimagined through a pop art lens, they capture unique facets of the healing process, offering powerful reflections on renewal and growth. She is excited to share this part of her artistic exploration with you.

This installation gives me a chance to walk visitors through their own personal exploration of grief, inspired by 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘯 𝘙𝘶𝘨𝘨’𝘴 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘴: A game for children about the journey through grief.

While Rugg’s game was made for kids to help them understand and process their grief, I felt its themes are just as important for adults. We all need spaces where we can face loss and think about new beginnings.

In this adaptation, I dive into how grief can touch us no matter our age. The installation creates a safe space for you to reflect, just like the original game but it is designed for you to go at your own pace, moving from feelings of separation to a sense of growth and ascension. As you engage with the piece, I invite you to think about your own experiences with loss and the emotions that come up during the healing process.

I believe adults often skip over the need for healthy ways to process grief, even though it is essential. This installation is meant to offer a space to sit with the complexity of grief and realise that healing doesn’t follow a straight path. By being open and vulnerable, we give ourselves the chance to understand our grief more fully and bring it into our lives in a way that feels authentic, no matter where we are in the process.

When you visit my show , I encourage you to take a moment to play the game. It may surprise you how much it reflects your own journey. You are welcome to share your thoughts with others, or take some time to jot them down and reflect privately in your journal. Hope you find peace in your journey.

We Are Things of Loss: Managing the Universal Experience of Grief

We are privileged to welcome Mr Sandy Clarke, a highly respected professional counsellor, author, and newspaper columnist, for a heartfelt discussion on the complexities of grief. With specialized training in existential therapy and bereavement counselling, Sandy has become a trusted voice on matters of loss, regularly sharing his insights on BFM radio and in workshops across the country. His work explores the interplay of mindfulness, existentialism, and grief, offering valuable tools for navigating the emotional landscape of loss.

With a deep commitment to understanding grief across cultures, Sandy is preparing to embark on a PhD that will explore this universal experience from a multicultural perspective in Malaysia.
