Islamic studies is an essential aspect for national development in the face of globalisation and industrial revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). For years, the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS), UiTM Shah Alam has played a pivotal role in promoting any form of contemporary Islamic studies.

It is a pleasure to announce that ACIS will be virtually conducting an International Conference on Contemporary Islamic Studies (ICIS) 2021 that will be officiated by YAB Tan Sri Dato' Hj. Muhyiddin Bin Hj. Mohd. Yassin, Prime Minister of Malaysia.

Recognizing the importance of zakat, waqf and philanthropy in society and nation development, Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS), UiTM Shah Alam, Selangor will continue to organize the 4th International Virtual Conference on Zakat, Waqf and Islamic Philanthropy (ZAWFI) 2020 to realize this aspiration.

This conference provides a platform for postgraduates, academicians and practitioners, globally to present their research results, development activities and share their experiences, new ideas, and research results about zakat, waqf and philanthropy theoretically and practically. This conference also focuses on research and study that include all scientific fields and current issues and challenges.

The conference theme is, ‘Philanthropy Model 4.0 Towards Empowering Ummah with Technology’.

The objective of the conference is to gather leading academicians, scholars and researchers to share research findings on contemporary Islamic philanthropic models to strengthen professional and dynamic management and development.

The conference also is designed to identify the contemporary models of Islamic philanthropy and to establish collaboration and smart partnership between universities and industries.

SCOPE

Topics of interests for submission include, but are not limited to:

Model and contemporary issues of Islamic philanthropy including zakat, wakaf, infaq, sadaqah, hibah, faraid, wasiat, inheritance, philanthropy and others covering the following aspects:

• Hukum

• Practices/mechanisms

• Education

• Governance

• Research

• Law

• Enforcement

• Investment

• Innovation

PUBLICATION

All accepted papers will be reviewed and published in a chapter in book (UiTM Press) and JCIS (Journal ACIS). Selected papers will be considered for publication in indexed journals (indexed by ERA, SCOPUS, WoS with additional publication fees). Also, all accepted abstracts will be published electronically in the Conference Program and the Abstract Book. It will be distributed to all conference participants.

BEST PAPER AWARD

The best paper will be selected based on the review reports from the conference panel reviewers. The best presenter will receive a certificate from the organizer.

Criteria of Best Paper Award:

1) Minimum references are 15 (80% from published work)

2) Empirical paper

3) Follow the format of full paper

4) Submit before 16th August 2020
