DESTAR’s First Cooking Class with YatieKitchen for Charity

DESTAR (Dewan Serbaguna Tengku Ampuan Rahimah) proudly hosted its very first cooking class featuring the talented Chef Yati from the renowned YatieKitchen, a beloved figure in home-cooked meal inspiration. Held on Sunday, 3rd November 2024, from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon, this special event aimed to support a meaningful cause, with all proceeds benefiting Rumah Amal Cahaya Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (RACTAR Orphanage). With a variety of seating options available at RM250, RM200, and RM150—attendees enjoyed a memorable experience, all while contributing to a worthy cause.
Four Inner Wheel Club of Kuala Lumpur members, including Foong, Rani, Brenda and Juanita, attended the function.

As a special highlight, Past Honorary Member and RACTAR Patron Tengku Norzehan surprised everyone by sharing a recipe for Sultan Selangor’s favorite dessert—a delightful nangka pudding.

Chef Yati demonstrated five classic dishes:
• Nasi Tomato (Tomato Rice)
• Ayam Masak Merah (Red-Cooked Chicken)
• Udang Berani (Boldly Spiced Prawns)
• Daging Rendang (Beef Rendang)
• Pineapple and Cucumber Achar (Pickled Vegetables)

Each attendee also received a thoughtfully prepared gift bag containing:
• A reusable bag
• Two exclusive recipes books from YatieKitchen
• A coffee drink, Sardine rolls and sampling of cookies
• A selection of Adabi brand spices

DESTAR extends heartfelt thanks to Chef Yati for her expertise and to all who attended, making this charitable event a success filled with delicious food, community spirit, and heartfelt giving.
