Watana is an original name of Emacua language which means union in Portuguese (Union of Arts and Cultures). It is a festival of sociocultural, involving the different arts present in the north of the country and beyond borders. d of Mozambique is an island city located in the Province of Nampula in northern of Mozambique which gave the name of the country which was the first capital. Due to its rich history, as manifested by an interesting architectural heritage, the island was considered by UNESCO in 1991 the World Heritage of Humanity. The island is about 3 km long and 300-400 m wide and is oriented northeast-southwest towards the entrance of the Bay of Mossuril, at a latitude of approximately 15 º 02 'S and longitude 40 º 44' E. The east coast of the island down to the sister islands of Goa and Sena (also known as Island of Snakes) the Bay of Mozambique. Architecturally, the island is divided into two parts, the "city of stone" and "city of macuti," the first of about 400 buildings, including the major monuments, and the second in the southern half of the island, about 1,200 homes of poor construction. However, many houses of stone are also covered with macuti. The Island of Mozambique is linked to the mainland by a bridge about 3 miles long, built in the 1960. (Watana Festival)- Watana é um nome originário da língua Emacua da província de Nampula, no norte de Moçambique que significa união na língua português. (União das Artes e Culturas). Um festival de animação multicultural e com muita atenção à arte, cultura, turismo, apresentação e decoração, envolvendo diversar expressões artísticas tais como: Música, Dança, Teatro, Fotografia, Escultura, Pintura, Cerâmica, Gastronómia, Penteados, Máscaras de belezas M’siro, Dj’s, Malabarismo e Cinéma Africano. A Ilha de Moçambique é uma cidade insular situada na província de Nampula, na região norte de Moçambique, a qual deu o nome ao país do qual foi a primeira capital. Devido à sua rica história, manifestada por um interessantíssimo património arquitetónico, a Ilha foi considerada pela UNESCO, em 1991 Património Mundial da Humanidade. Actualmente, a cidade é um município, tendo um governo local eleito. De acordo com o
censo de 1997, o município tem 42 407 habitantes, e destes 14 889 vivem na Ilha. A Ilha tem cerca de 3 km de comprimento e 300–400 m de largura e está orientada no sentido nordeste-sudoeste à entrada da Baía de Mossuril, a uma latitude aproximada de 15º02' S e longitude de 40º44' E. A costa oriental da Ilha estabelece com as ilhas irmãs de Goa e de Sena (também conhecida por Ilha das Cobras) a Baía de Moçambique. Estas ilhas, assim como a costa próxima, são de origem coralina. Arquitectonicamente, a Ilha está dividida em duas partes: a "cidade de pedra" e a "cidade de macuti". A primeira tem cerca de 400 edifícios, incluindo os principais monumentos, e a segunda, na metade sul da ilha, tem cerca de 1200 casas de construção precária. No entanto, muitas casas de pedra são igualmente cobertas com macuti. A Ilha de Moçambique está ligada ao continente por uma ponte com cerca de 3 km de comprimento, construída nos anos 1960.
