When I was asked to make Anca Smith a dress that describes , for the event, the following things came to my mind. 🇳🇦🇳🇦🇳🇦
Firstly, Namibia is home to the oldest in the world. It is also the only coastal desert in the world that includes extensive dune fields influenced by fog.
I made the top of Anca’s dress and the front of the skirt the colours and textures to match the vast and spectacular windswept of our . The neck and arm pieces, to accentuate the wind and the sand. The desert colours flow into greens and different shades of blues towards the backside of the skirt to match the different colours of our rough and foggy seas.
In Anca’s there is a piece of and , typically to our beaches. Also, pieces of , a rose-like crystal cluster formation of grains of sand, set in stone due to the harsh elements and wind of the desert. The headpiece is finished off with the resemblance of rays of the Namibian sun that creates the most beautiful in the world.
Due to the fact that Anca is young and that I wanted the dress to be youthful and , I designed it to be a with an attachable skirt.
