Folks can help Ukrainians by purchasing art work created by Namibian artists under the theme of sunflowers; through the “Sunflowers show” exhibition at Cosdef Arts & Crafts Center, Swakopmund, from 24 Feb till 24 March.

Everyone is welcome to attend the opening night on 24 February from 5 p.m.

- auction/lottery/prizes/wine & much more
- food will be available at the restaurant

This is a pop-up group exhibition focusing on the sunflower motif interpreted through artists’ varying perspectives.

The Sunflower, or Soniashnyk in Ukrainian, has taken on new layers of meaning, emerging as a global symbol of resistance, unity, and hope. The show aims to gather a community of artists to stand in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

We are collecting artwork of all types (new/ preloved/ framed/ unframed).

You can donate an art work where 100% of funds raised go to the charity, or sell a work, where the funds are shared 50/50 between the artist and charity. We are open to disscuss your proposal.

Last date of submission of art work: 21st February, 2023 by 5PM.

Your artwork can be anonymous upon request.

If you are going to do a Sunflower masterclass, tell us about it, we will highlight it in our news and also your event will be covered with a photo shoot, free of charge, by Olga's PhotoDesign (in Swakopmund).

With the arts industry gaining popularity in Namibia, this could definitely be a great opportunity for exposure.

The MTC Dome Namibia is committed to empower and inspire Namibians through sport. As the largest and most versatile indoor sports facility in Namibia, the MTC Dome High-Performance Centre is an international ASPC-accredited entity and multi-functional sports destination located in beautiful Swakopmund.

The ability of sport to encourage, unify, elevate and enable Namibians cannot be emphasized enough.

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to participate in our upcoming Namibia Sport Expo (NSE) from 8-11 December 2022 at the MTC Dome High-Performance Centre, Swakopmund. Following a partnership agreement, the NSE will be hosted annually by MTC Dome and the Namibia Sport Commission to incorporate all sports federations and affiliates to benefit from this gathering.

This 4-day event has the key objective to engage local and international industry representatives, training experts and other critical stakeholders to share sport affiliation experiences and debate pertinent skills and sport development issues affecting the sector. Our focus will be on new training methodology, high-performance sport and development pathways, the latest sports apparel and equipment as well as creating new affiliations and partnerships.

The NSE 4-day program includes a Sport Conference (8,9,10 December) and workshops on 11 December, while a Sport Exhibition will run simultaneously at our Indoor Sport Centre covering 6,100m² to showcase credible and accredited local and international sport affiliations and businesses to exhibit their products.

This is going to be an event of national importance, as it will bring together talented Namibians and key regional and global sports stakeholders, generating significant value for all participants. Our focus will be on new training methodology, high-performance sport and development pathways, the latest sports apparel and equipment as well as creating new affiliations and partnerships.

This is aligned with the Namibian National Sports Commission’s Strategic Plan “to ensure and enable an environment and high-performance culture” to guarantee the expectations it has for skills training in generating much-needed momentum for growth and development of sport at all levels”.

The event is to include the following components:
- A Sport Expo, in which credible and accredited local and international Sport Affiliations and businesses exhibit their products
- An international Sport Conference, which is in support of a key engagement objective to bring together on a single platform, local and international industry representatives, training experts and other critical stakeholders to share Sport Affiliation experiences and debate pertinent skills and sport development issues affecting the sector
- Panel discussions around relevant topics.

The Dome Weihnachtsmarkt 2022 will be hosted over 3 days on Thursday and Saturday ( 1st to 3rd of December 2022) in Swakopmund, and will showcase a variety of hand-crafted items, Christmas décor, and gifts, as well as regional food specialties and traditional German baked goods.

The Market supports artists and craftspeople who create their own items, produce, and art in Namibia.
